    • Get the addition of MP so far and you will get the Idea which presidential candidate is winning. Just to add for you a few: Luapula 12 out 14 are PF, Copperbelt 22 have gone to PF, Lusaka 12. If one adds Mongu Central which is PF Kabwe Central, you are talking of 32% have ushered in PF. The 16 Western province vote remaining may go to Sata as well as some from Northern provinces. I know Eastern province has 19 only, North Western, 12, Central 13 remaining and the remaining 19 in southern which we expect UPND to lead. Now if you go by these statistics, there is an handwriting on the wall. Wina Azalila.

  1. Most Copperbelt votes have been counted. The drought is now coming. RB will hammer SATA is NW and Western Provinces

  2. In 2006, Sata was leading to the extent that his certainty of voctory led him to ‘strangely and rushly’ command the secretary to the cabinet and chief justice to obey those orders we all remember. That was how sure Sata was. 19 consituencies is too early. My bet is RB is the next head of state in Zambia. Sata can’t be gettiong 100 or 300 votes in North Western and Western, and hope to bag it. RB, measnwhile, is getting thousands in Sata’s stronghold. PF members, let experience be the best teacher for you too, in life.

  3. HH should have listened to positive criticesm instead of showing us his unpopularity, the chap is pompous, he’s not even ready for 2011. now this nyama soya should wait because all the chickens and goats that were voting in shangomdo have since been eaten by the hungry villagers.

  4. SATA’s lead will evaporate by tomorrow morning. RB strong holds will be announced in the night. VJ formula at work.

  5. right now my dear Zambia One its 56 constituencies and Sata is still leading by over 197000 votes so what are you saying? RB is not even MMD, he’s UNIP in MMD skin and even those minions in MMD do not want him to win.

  6. Alale fwe twalukwenda muchombo!!!! RB is catching up guys….ubwato bwalatu bundila…tubale tu twike elo talu lanya! alale yangu wesu

  7. chalila but ba LT namushalila,56 constituencies have already been counted and sata now has 458 974,but i juess you will catch up with some of us ahead

  8. You See I told Dr. Chiluba that he should repent before its too late, but he was just in favor of RB. I feel soory for him.

  9. Same old tricks!!! Make Sata feel good for now, then RB comes from behind and carries the day. We saw all this in 2006!!! Fyabupuba!!!

  10. this out of 56 const done so far,its kind of tight.sata has lsk, cbelt, central, northern, luapula, then was coming out second in eastern,rb has pat of central, north western and western.hh has southern province and cming out second in northwestern and western.

    PF 458,391 54%
    MMD 261,457 31%
    UPND 122,596 14%
    HP 5,380 1%
    Void 3,767 0%

  11. Ifwe ba HP have given whoever the wina a good run to Zamtroop in areas where we got 0 in 2006 we ve improved to 4

  12. it seem sata has improved.he will be first in lusaka,cb,central, northen and luapula, second in southern and eastern and third in western and north western.there more constituencies where sata is leading than other contenders.but its too early to start celebrating but chances of pf wining are there compared to 2006 election.pa bwato

  13. Actually the MMD is winning; this must be clear and easy to tell by anyone with the slightest analysis. MMD has greately improved on their results even in Lusaka and CB compared to 2006. Take for instance Kanyama where Mwanawasa got only about 4,300 in 2006 and PF got over 30,000. This time RB has got over 8,000 while PF 16,000. This is the same in most constituencies as we have seen a decline in PF results and a pick for MMD. There has also been a great pick by MMD in Sothern province and everywhere else, RB has shown great tenacity in persuing the winners wherever he has not won. I can say that MMD has done extremely well so far, much better than they did in 2006 in the same areas.

  14. ELYO BA LUPIYA SHIRT NIBA TK MU BIG BROTHER AFRICA, DOZING NI SHIRT CAMPAIGN NI SHIRT NAPAKU VOTA NI SHIRT. TK WAS ACCUSED NAIMWE ALOWAYS IYO…..

  15. Aha ha ha ha ha! twalemyeba jah man! VIVA SATA! VIVA PABWATO! TWAFIKA NOMBA BA MWINE.
    bwaima,tubumbi bulendo pa bwatoooooooo

  16. Western and North Western are shared by HH and RB thereby giving Sata a more confortable lead. The margin is just too wide, so where will RB get over 200,000 votes to surpass Sata’s confortable lead? Even rigging here won’t work because of the unprecedented low voter turn out especially in rural areas. It’s over over for RB – kwasila aluza….. hey, all you in the Bwato sing along!!!!

  17. sata will win lusaka,c’belt, luapula and northern. RB will win eastern and nothwest, HH wins southern. Western and Central are both toss-ups.

  18. He’s going no where. With most of the results announced representing his strong holds, the boat is clearly stuck in sewer. What the opposition should learn is for them to be galvanized and not galvanize thugs individually. You can not win when you do not even have etiquette to negotiate. It is now time to leave the comedy behind, rally around the tested leadership of Mr. Banda. May Zambia prosper.

  19. PF leader Michael Sata has polled 361 262 votes and is followed by MMD’s Rupiah Banda who has accumulated 240 941 votes in 43 contituences counted so far. this is according to Radio Christian Voices at the 14:00hrs news…………

  20. #23
I agree with u “at night, VJ furmula”. I just don’t know what we can do to stop HIM. Its like MMD for life.
Atleast in lusaka and copperbelt people are more alert. now in….

  21. “The results are part of constituencies representing Copperbelt, Eastern and Lusaka provinces.”

This is good news but we let us wait and see.

  22. what is it that mmd has done to the rural chaps, they amaze me when it comes to voting, cnt they see that mmd is up to good

  23. MWE BANTU! Are you working or you’re just sitting and waiting for the next Headling? Please go back to work.

  24. Electrol commission can’t updated their website. they managed to post something at 10:00 with only 19 contituences conuted. But one wonders why they do not post the other results which Mrs FR. Mumba has announced in the afternoon……………….????????????

  25. my children are at expensive schools abroad…how do u think i will manage to pay when sata wins…dont deny my children the right to education….bwezani a bale a banda

  26. These are official results announced by Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) as monitored through ZNBC. ZAMNET will continue updating the results on this Website as results from other constituencies are made available.

    Electoral Commission of Zambia

    Presidential Elections Results
    41 constituencies counted so far
    Michael Sata
    361,263

    Rupiah Banda
    240,941

    Hakainde Hichilema
    98,274

    Godfrey Miyanda
    4,614

  27. The website showing 56 constituencies is an independent one, and its showing RB closing the gap. Are you aware that SATA was getting as low as 7 votes in polling stations in NW province, where RB gets 508. Check times of Zambia website. RB will quickly catch up with SATA with just a few constituencies in NW province.I also RB has won Nakonde and siavonga and Chongwe

  28. We have seen this before. Sata’s lead leads nowhere! I hope he can retire after this election. He is dragging our politics to the 50s.RB is the next Head Of State. Strategy mudala. HH for 2011.

  29. I hope Sata will win ,but only for 3 years and then HH no matter what happens will go to plot one-HH gogogogogoooo we are behind you dont lose hope gogogogoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  30. ECZ cant use technology effectively. I wonder why. That update at 10.00 hr this morning is now history. By now most results should be in. What happened in my home village of Sesheke?

  31. RB has been coming either first or second, in all constituencies announced so far. MMD is doing better than 2006

  32. VJ TRICKS ARE AT WORK. I WONDER PIPO ARE STILL VOTING FOR MMD SHAME! YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SEEK FOR CHANGE THATS WHY WE ARE BEHIND. VJ,VJ,VJ,!!!!!

  33. I have also noted one thing, that PF has expanded their to other areas compared to 2006. However, their percentage lead margin in LSK and CB is not as overwhelming as it was in 2006. MMD seems to have narrowed the gaps in these areas comapared to the extreme gaps they were slaped by in 2006. Because of this turn of events, the gains by PF in other smaller places may not compansate the drop in the lead in their main strongholds, which is tending to give PF a disadvantage. On the other hand the pull up by MMD in these areas (CB and LSK) is giving their candidate a definite advantage as he is displaying a good fighting spirit by getting reasonable votes wherever he is losing.

  34. dont worry, fyalacinja pakuti bwile. Ask Sata and Mazoka, they know how it changes. Right now Sata is scared, he knows there is serious business somewhere. Sorry Michael. MMD pliz dont give him a heart attact.

  35. PF still leading but with serious scenario to worry for…
The latest results of the presidential bye-election as announced by the ECZ show that acting president Rupiah Banda is exponentially closing in on PF candidate Michael Sata who has lead in 19 constituencies out of the 150 that give the presidency. And MMD founder member Akashambatwa Mbikusita Lewanika has mocked PF supporters saying that they are headed for a ‘rude shock’.Mr. Lewanika said that the MMD was headed for victory and the PF members should stop celebrating but prepare for a crashing defeat shortly.

  36. SATA WINA MWANDI ABA AMA INVESTOR BA FITUMBUWA BACHILAMO UKUTUSHUPA, TEKAKO NAIWE ULETEKO A BA MUNKOYO!!!!! TWANWA SANA

  37. Who ever wins the elections, we will all still be Zambians. Whether the new leader will be suitable or not, that is up to you to debate….Peace.

  38. Hi everyone, have following the news as much as you guys i pray sata wins this election and i guarantee big changes to zambians. MMD as been ruling since 1991 and there is no big change to the people, it now time to give a man like SATA a change for the better. if sata wins i will coming to invest my money in zambia. SATA FOR PRESIDENT

  39. ECZ chairperson Justice Florence Mumba anoounced at 13 hours local time that the PF candidate had so far gained 361, 263 votes followed by Mr. Banda at 240, 941. Mr. Hichilema was trailing at 98, 274 while general Miyanda had about 4, 000 votes. This means that Mr. Banda has gained 143, 000 votes in the second announcement compared to Mr. Sata who added about 70, 000 votes more from the morning release. Mr. Banda has won all the constituencies so far announced in Western and Northwestern province followed by Mr. Hichilema.

  40. Whoever will win will be my president but please spare me my two great men Magande and Mutati i love these men. Their performance is super

  41. By the time we wake up tomorrow, RB will be in the lead. Most of SATA’s strong holds have been exhausted. Its only in chipata where SATA came close to RB. In other places in eastern province, RB is beating SATA badly. You are all welcome to the swearing in of RB on monday. Including those in the boat

  42. MMD HAS WON. THEY JUST DELAYING TO ANNOUNCE RESULTS. THEY HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. RIGGING! I DO NOT KNOW WHERE WE ARE HEADING TO. THIS TREND WILL NEVER CEASE. NO WONDER WE DO NOT GET ANYWHERE ITS BECOZ OF OUR BEHAVIOUR.

  43. The Boat is not yet stuck it is just waiting for the storm so it can set sail again, remember we still have Central Northern and luapula provinces….. MMD should just pack. i think they will make a very good opposition party which is Healthy for the Democracy in Z..esp with Sata as President.

May be now the people will finally have there way. not just a selected few who want to hold on to power for their own selfish needs ” rule by the pipo 4 the pipo!”

    Viva pa bwato!!

  44. Hu eva is supporting Sata u r simply dreaming everyones knws banda is winning so jst sleep babay MMD 4 life da hour…

  45. Iwe its too early to sleep by the time you wake up kwisa? What about Northern kanshi i am interested in knowing the results from there. anybody got them?

  46. Someone please confirm this

The 50:50 rule that zambia adopted this year means that if Sata wins by 48% and RN is 34% as predicted then there will be a run off between 2 leading candisates?

As i understand it, Sata cant be the president unless he wins and attains 50% This may mean elinating the other 2 nonenties
Someone confirm this ASAP, my boyfriend and i cant get our heads together

  47. one wonders how long it take to count a few papers in rural areas. All the voting ended on 30/10/2008 at 18:00hrs but we are still wondering results are still with held……..truly this is Zambia the real Africa!!!!!!!

  48. Evolution you are wrong . If MMD goes out they will be like UNIP! dead and forgoten PF is beta for opposition they must go to the convention and put on a national appeal sata knows this.

  49. Going by what is in on the zambiaelection web site especially when you go by region you can tell What is there now will not be the final result that people are looking forward to

  50. Thank you no 57, i was just about to enquire about the standings of the polls. Any comments about General Chisuzi and Mateyo’s threats to the Zambians? What a disgrace.

  51. Sata and HH….if you loose, i don’t think u love zambians, see how far we were going to defeat MMD if you guys came togather.. we need you togather

  52. 53. Figlif,
200,000 votes is nothing because we have not done even one third of our total number of constituencies. We have more than 100 constituencies out of 150. If you knew the voters register well and how the spread is you would know that we have just begun. This race is not a ‘100 meter’ race but a ‘cross country’ one. So sprinting from the blow of the whistle does not give any definite advantage for a ‘cross country’ race. What counts normally is a sense of tenacity and maintaining good speed at almost every point of the entire race. In life we do many things but based on the same principles. Likewise, this race is governed by the same principles, tenacity and consistency.

  53. I like Mopao Koffi Olomde’s saying ”Kokende Liboso,Eza Kokoma Te” translated as ”ukutangila tekufika” or in English,”beginning a journey first does not mean you arrive first”,someone who started after you could still arrive earlier than you,it’s good to shut up till the process of counting is over in all constituencies!
Last time,Sata cried foul after initial results in a few constituencies showed he was ahead of Mwanawasa & everyone else.Zambia has 150 constituencies not 2,3 or the reported 56 or so far.Let’s wait & see.

  54. # 116, the Constitution has not yet been enacted. They are following the simple majority.
The POST NEWS PAPER has an election Results Table and are updating it as results come. You can view it free. You can even guess who is wining.

  55. Viva sata, umuntu ni pabwato.
Ba MMD batambuli mwanya, dont even try kuchita va mu 2006.
    VAUPUBA.. PABWATOOOOOOOOOO…………….
    RB wafwa walemana

  56. HH will never rule zambia, he is sturbon chap with a big head!! At the moment the battle is on the two grandfathers.
Why is it that faxes and emails from western and north western prov. takes forever to reach lusaka??????? can someone please tell me. maybe its because those are the areas which are easily riggable!!!
VJ where are you, please dont play us this time around.

can someone confirm this before i throw A BIG PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

  58. #131 its not that they know the results. its because they know we dont fight. they dont cover Botswana too and namibia. they dont love peaceful elections what news is there? they want Africa to fight then it is news for them. they are so stereotyped.

  59. You can’t win an election by telling people that you are going to continue with another person’s policies. There’s big change happening everywhere – just think, US, UK, etc – Zambia also needs it otherwise, we’ll remain further behind.

RB will lose – he has nothing to offer. He behaves like being a president is like being an administrator. He’s lucky he’s even been acting. He won’t be missed.

  60. It was clear from the statements made by key people in MMD during the campaigns that they were out to do anything to prevent SATA from winning and therefore highly expected that the government machinery is already in motion to overturn the current trend in the results. The final outcome tomorrow will be shocking to most Zambians yearning for change. My only hope is that PF cadres will adequately counter these machinations and allow the “BOAT” to get to the shore.

  61. #116 Iwe Michelle Nkole leave that boyfriend if he has no head. I know you have one thats why you have posted your comment

  62. U didn’t expect me to vote for the educated. What has their education done for Zambia? Tell me.They are educated to still and that is not with my blessing.Better the uneducated who can deliver!!!!!!!!!! GO SATA GO!

  63. #116 you are very fast the new constitution is still under discussion its the simple majority be informed and stop day dreaming.

  64. Is it true that AKA has claimed victory already, saying they have results from most of polling stations and have won the elections.

  65. Here are results from the 56 out of 150 constituencies. Note however that these are yet to be verified by ECZ. They are results got from the districts around Zambia.

    PARTY VOTES PERCENTAGE
    PF 458,701 54%
    MMD 261,457 31%
    UPND 122,596 14%
    HP 5,380 1%
    Void 3,767 0%

  66. His honour the Vice President – self, will address the nation on radio and TVZ later today to give the “State of the Elections” address. It may be another sombre speech….if I prevail over VJ and Mbita, it may amount to conceeding defeat.

  67. The counting only finishes when the usual winner wins though he seems to have been knocked. MMD ikali bakaamba

  68. Anyone with the latest news on the Election agent that was found with pre marked ballot papers for MMD at Munali High School this morning who was trying to stuff them in a ballot box? Is the hearing on the matter at Lusaka civic center still on?

  69. I wont accept these results, vows Sata
Patriotic Front candidate Michael Sata has complained that the MMD is in the process of rigging the elections and has thus said he won’t accept the results.

HAS THE CAPTAIN JUMPED OUT OF THE BOAT BEFORE IT DOCKS …..!!!!!

  70. from 41 constituencies:

    Godfrey Miyanda

  71. I never had any ambitions in the first place….except Mwanawasa wanted someone who would not be a threat.I served my role but was pushed by Teta,Thandiwe and Mbita to exceed my role.

  72. # 165 THOSE REULTS JUST SHOWS 56/150 AND ALMOST ALL FROM PF STRONGHOLD, WHICH IS INTERESTING THAT MEANS THE MMD DID THEIR HOMEWORK THIS TIME ROUND THEY ARE CHALLENGING WELL WHERE THEY DID BADLY LAST TIME …. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  73. RB is getting it. Shame to Sata’s minions The Post who tried to do everything possible to make him win. His people, the kaponyas, lost their voters cards hence most of them didn’t vote. MMD has greatly improved in both Lusaka & the Copperbelt. It’s RB !!!!!

  74. I hear VJ has just flown to Kasama and as I am writing now he had already landed. Bushe what is wrong with VJ, ala naikakana. Maybe he is trying to make a follow-up on the mock-ballots he sent earlier which were caught on the Juldan Bus on Wednesday morning.

  75. Latest results after 75 constituencies.

    Void 3767 -0%

  78. People have been telling PF to say that they should not be using their boat on dry land, even Noah did not start using the boat immediately; he just made it and started waiting for the rains. Now PF, they have been using their boat everywhere where there is not water; imagine even in Cairo road of Lusaka they were busy using it. Now what has happened is that they have damaged it before the rains comes. That is why it is now overturning at the moment.

  79. Y IS IT THAT ALL THUGS ARE NOW TO COMTINUE THE LEGACY. BANDA WAS REJECTED BY HIS SUPPERIOR.AND AFTER PAYING A FEW CHAPS TO ENDORSE HIM HE WENT ON TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT WAS EXPECTED OF HIM SAD.MAY THE LIGHTING STRIKE CHIEF RIGGAZ.SOME MMD SAY AMEN

  80. pabwatooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  81. It looks like Sata will still get more points because whe havent recieved results from the whole c/b,northen and luapula. let him win so that the people of zambia learn a lesson of choosing a hooligan

  82. I think Sata still stands a better chance to win. The results released so far are from constituencies with most of the voters. Also from the look of things, due to very low voter turn out, we could say we are past half the total votes cast. From the remaining votes, unless Sata gets below 1,000 from each of the remaining constituencies (which is unlikely), he might be on his way to plot one.

  83. “Zambian opposition leader Michael Sata held a lead over acting President Rupiah Banda in the presidential election, according to preliminary results from almost a third of constituencies released on Friday.

Sata, who heads the Patriotic Front, had 361,263 votes versus 240,941 votes for Banda, election officials announced. Some 3.9 million voters were registered to vote in the polls.

The latest results were based on counting in 43 of Zambia’s 150 constituencies.”

  84. According to the ZNBC reporter in Chipata RB has just won Chadiza, Mkaika, Petauke Central & Feira by big margins. Ubwato buli mucibe since most of the votes from their strongholds have been counted!!!

  85. Kanthu , I feel you are poor at analysing things. Have u tried to look at the Votes that RB got in NW and Western as compared to what they got in 2006. Have you noted how the so called strongholds for MMD have been

  86. This is what happened in 2006

    Regions Mwanawasa Sata Hichelema
    Total 42.98 29.37 25.32
    Central Province 59.96 17.27 21.26
    Copperbelt Province 38.3 52.66 7.43
    Eastern Province 44.58 12.46 37.53

    Southern Province 20.13 3.56 74.35
    Western Province 76.28 8.59 12.11

  87. # 192 u are a hooligan urself ,,how in God1s name can u call Sata a Hooligan u f dump a ss…u just showing how low u are fo ol …

  88. Sata or PF have an uphill battle: to defeat those large grain borers – the jobseekers – will not be easy. It is a matter of life and death for VJ, Chitala, Chiluba, etc

  89. Waziona, if MMD will die like UNIP Then let them rot we need serious leaders who will stand up and oppose govt decisions on behalf of the ordinary Zambians and not people who think state house is a key to better lives for themselves and their spoilt Children.

if MMD cant stand outstide state house for 3 years then will all know that they are…. losers. and by the way we still have HH. Just hope he still has the money to continue the fight after 2 knockouts!!

  90. “POLICE in Lusaka yesterday nabbed Munali presiding officer Godfrey Malwita on suspicion of having already marked ballot papers.
And police at the Civic Centre sneaked Malwita out of the centre on the pretext that they were going to interrogate him.

According to a Patriotic Front (PF) polling agent for Munali, Sipiwe Mwanamulela, the incident happened after the results were recorded that is when Malwita asked for attention from the people who were present at Munali polling station.

“We just heard him shout order! order! and he said he needed polling agents to help him put the ballot boxes and the white bags in the vehicle for transmission to the Civic Centre,” she said.” POST

  91. We have 3,900,000 registered voters. In the 2006 election 61% voters had cast their vote. This time around it seems we have just over 30% voter turn out thus about 1,200,000 votes expected in total. This would mean that we are about 3/4 of the total votes so far with PF in the lead of 54% trailed by 31% of MMD.

The question is can MMD gather the rest of the votes remaining especially taking into consideration that not all constituencies from C/B, Luapula and Northern provinces have been announced?

  92. I see that all the shameless Sata supporters are creating an enabling environment for Sata to have a heart attack. It’s only 19 Constituances, mostly in Sata’s strongholds. There still 131 to go in areas Sata is not known. You will cry pofye. It wont happen. Firstly, the voter turnout was poor – a disadvantage for Sata in the cities. So where do you think the pipo that have voted for him will come from. Sata retires after these elections. Mark my words.

  93. elo ba anti Sata #112. you talk like your job and life Depends on RB being in state house. Dont be lazy work for the betterment of Mother Zambia.

  94. 59 constiuences sata 448203 and RB 300958
hEY sata is likely to win. Luapula and Northern has not been doen yet.
AN donot forget about Kapiri Mposhi 68000 registred voters

  95. I see that this might be the end of PF. In fact PF is nothing other than SATA; remove SATA from PF then you can be sure there is no PF.
Those who wnat to doubt what I am saying should write this down so that you can come and read it in future. Voters dont vote for PF but for SATA. This is unhiden, and I hope all do see this.

  96. Ba LT naimwe stop putting stall news. how can u be at 19 constutuencies, even wen ECZ is at 41. u r loosing the grip in tearms of latest news.

  97. It is very easy to play the match from the terraces. It will be very interesting to see how MC shirt No. 11 wll now feature on the play ground. Zambians you have made the decision and so it is time to see the many promises ‘stories’ being converted into reality. Anyway I am waiting to have more money in my pocket now since my pocket is empty.

  98. people you know MMD are rigging the vote as we speak! they’ve done it for the last 2 elections what will stop them now?

  99. in as much mmd is doing fine,in places like northwestern sata is loosing by margins of like 300,and when pf wins its with big margins like 5000 25000 kind

  100. Sata can carry the day just that MMD is now full of crooks.I hope God will help us.Look at these thieves chiluba, nawakwi, nevers ,vj list goes on!!I really don’t know if they can allow sata to rule.we all know that if sata was given a chance zambia can change big time.

  101. We are waiting for an equalising goal from his honour RB and then in the dying minutes of counting when the some zambians will be jumping and celebrating a winning goal will come from corner that is western province thereafter ,We shall sell the ship as scrap mental to countries with seas ,mostly we shall it to somalia, the pirates there are in needy of the vessel .

Mubwatooooooooooooooooooooo!emonchili ine bane.Viva Sata Viva PF.

  105. How come those boxes in livingstone had something ‘elections…’ and to be delivered to VJ? U can’t blame the brothers for reacting, anyway. And his ear sickness just came at the right time when the printing was going on…then gets discharged just when the other ballot boxes were released from South Africa…why do we name him the great mathematician?

  106. We shall know the winner by 10 hrs tomorrow morning. The system this time is so easy that it makes Zimbabwe look like a distant planet in terms of speed of announcing election results.

  107. guys lets us wait and see. things may sound good for pf, but can change anytime. i always wonder as to why Sata can not put up measures to sort out the rigging, cause he knows the tricks as he was part of it. hope as he becomes president he will put up measures to end poverty in zambia.

  108. ala ba pf,mulimuchibe kwena,i warned most of u,according to updates from qfm nyama soya is drinking all the water from the river, very soon u will be on dry land,i pity all pf fans.HH would have made a gud president,

  109. My fellow bloggers MMD has carried the day. they just buying time and trying to excite people for nothing. Northern and Luapula MMD has rigged the results. please believe me. MMD has won this election.

  110. mwebena zambia-when shall we stop politics of tribal regions?we need to move on and be civilised-let us be issue based and not choosing HH becoz of being southerner-chibwantu,PF becoz of being northerner-pabwato or ukusefya pang’wena,MMD becoz of being mpuno mukulu Easterner.shame to this kind of voting even after talking about-ala bushe timavela—–ONE ZAMBIA—-ONE NATION—ONE NATION—–ONE ZAMBIA—————CHANGE FOR THE BETTER ZAMBIA

  128. In Luapula Sata has swept clean. It’s been announced though not officially.

Thse in Lusaka, what’s the mood like?Who is sailing and who is sinking!?

  133. remember people Sata has been laeding staedy from the begining , already almost 60 constituenccies have reported in …sata still has a commanding lead of almost 200 000 votes
keep in mind only about 50 % of the registerd voters turned out to vote unlike in 2006 ,
so the facts are like this
so far total votes custed ,including voids are at 863 943 votes from a pool of 1.75 mill votes leaves less than 900.000 votes
MMD needs to get atleast 500,000 of the 900,000 remaining votes to stand a chance and that will be asuming PF and UPND share the remaing votes equaly , which will not happen …so this so called whirl wind of votes from the villagers beter be something out of this world

  134. i wished everyone wud open up real fast and vote for someone truely young and vibrant instead of bringing in the power hungry old men who dont care what happens to the youths of this generation or the next to come just as long as their children’s futures are secured

  135. LT you are very behind with data, you are talking of 19 constituencies counted so far while some of us we are now on 112 constituencies, go and get more news and come and update this junk.

  136. #214 the people that didnt vote or turn up affect all the four candidates and not only President Sata. What makes you think all those that have not voted are Sata’s supporter? What kind of analysis is this? Just accept it naizanda uno muku. viva Sata Viva pabwato

  137. Clearly MMD is wining. Look at the results they are the same as 2006. Not a single constuitutency has changed hands. MMD has however increased its share of votes votes in constituencies it has lost. Indications from Souther and Western and Northwestern is that Sata has done badly there. Good riddence of Sata.

  138. its a shame as we see voting pattern of Zambians, Sata’s policies in thiss world? anyway God has a plan and lets see how PF and Sata will do the things they promised in 90 days, more money in pocket? am anxious, i might even move to Zambia and see what this man has in store oh but i have to make sure i land in lusaka and not promised Barotse land. Three years and hopefully we will learn a lesson that you can not substitute hard work.

  146. Hi am from Livingstone and the majority of UPND and PF supporters are shocked as to where the ECZ got those results for MMD. I am positive people here voted for HH and PF and not MMD. The ECZ got the 2006 results that Levy got from stone. Shame upon these thieves!! VIVA opposition!!!!

  147. It looks like Big nose is catching up with the 61 consituencies reported so far.Hopefully HH will perform well too but anyway, better RB than Sata although MMD chose the wrong candidate.

  151. it seems pf is winning, provide jobs for your graduates so that they can lead a good life. In the meantime hh can rest and enjoy his money, whether we suffer this time or not you have three square meals each day with your family. We know you wanted to provide a service to zambians, they have chosen sata as a moses.

  152. #316 sorry but where were the agents that were appointed by the opposition parties that are contesting the results. I am surprised that UPND which I support with all my heart can turn round and question the election. Sata via his secretary general Edwin Mumbi said they were happy with the process on Tuesday this week, so what went wrong between then and today?

  153. those of yu MMD die hards trying to mislead bloggers that pf has little support in rural areas, look at this, mpolokoso, mpika, chinsali, samfya, mansa, kawambwa, sata alasa clean.doubting thomases visit post web site and see 4 yoselves.will be back with more updates

  154. If only REGISTERED VOTERS voted then sata can win.
why so far without northern and luapula 470,000
if u had luapula and nothern the votes will be almost 650,000.
subtract that 650,000 from 1,428,049 the answer =
share 778049 with HH.maybe HH 300,000 guess who wins Sata
low turn out will favour sata unless something happens at night!!
    Sata will win

  155. Sata lost the election in Souther, Western and North Western province, and he like UPND, if he doesn’t break into these non traditional areas, he and us (UPND) shall remain in opposition forevere, the other strategy is to form pacts between UPND and PF, that way the opposition stands a chance in 2011.

  156. If only REGISTERED VOTERS which is 1,428,049 voted then sata can win.
why so far without northern and luapula 470,000
if u had luapula and nothern the votes will be almost 650,000.
subtract that 650,000 from 1,428,049 the answer =

low turn out will favour sata unless something happens at night!!
    Sata will win

  157. Sata and his PF stooges should do a David Coresh exit. Load themselves in the middle of a lake and burn their way to hell.

  158. ok this is gettin interestin…..mwebantu keep us posted.we need those results as soon as possible.i want a job u know!

  159. I hear the results for kasama central are as follows pf 13,540 mmd 2,799 upnd 295 hp 95. What a diff. I can see pf still going strong

  160. MMD is winning this. Watch me work my magic in the rural areas. Tuma cadres from urban areas – you are so stup1d. You are the reason for low turnout. Watching from the sidelines or blogging yet hoping Sata would win. He will not win because your stup1d self was at home blogging or checking out p0rn.

Mulongoti told me you could have won if only you went to the polling station. Ku konda ku kamba ba f1kala. ACT!!!!

  161. Latest results just announced by ECZ Chairperson Judge Mumba at Mulungushi Conference Center at 16:45 hrs:

    Sata-407,639

    Hakainde-186,152
    Miyanda-7,254
The results are from the 59 constituencies counted so far!

The gap is narrowing between PF & MMD bane !!!

  162. sata is down now by 1% from 53% is now52%. I don’t the
games they have started to play now.can someone join me
listening from radio 1 and 4, Radio Phoenix,Yatsani
on the internet so that we have people with good update
    of news here.

  163. The gap between PF and MMD is now around 90, 000. Let the party begin…..whoever thinks they can start celebrating.

  164. We the RB supporters are catching up. ‘Ukabangilila tekufika’ so the bembas say.’Kusogola sikufika’ so the nyanjas say. Wina azalila mailo. Anyway, the good news is that these elections are just for continuity of LPM’s term. In other words we are choosing ‘mupyani’. So please SATA don’t fight for ‘kupyana’ because it brings bad omen. When you loose wait for the real elections in 2011. By then you can genetically mutate and become a little younger, clean up your teeth and possibly look more handsome thatn you are now. Have a good weekend and don’t drink too much my fellow kaponyas. I love you all.

  165. SATA is who I would like to see win though I prefer Miyanda. SATA kept Lusaka clean during his years as governor, and though a little rough he gets the job done. HH is simply spoiling the votes, I gurantee this one bit that Miyanda shall be front runner 2011 if he extends his invitation to the wise today. If Sata were to loose HH would be a gigantic reason; why can African leaders learn not to be greedy. It Happened in Zimbabwe, that Mutambara is the reason Mugabe still remains their president. That eight percent he got could have helped Tswangirai clear the thresh hold. May God bless Zambia.

  166. I think we have already seen this “movie” before. Someone in the opposition acquires the lead early and that lead is chipped away by the incumbent party’s candidate until…”surprise”, the incumbent wins. PF and UPND deserve to lose because they did not put collective interest above self interest. When are we going to learn?

  167. Sata’s victory is certain,no one will take it away from him because he is the next presido.Viva Sata Viva PF,Mubwato emonchili bane.

  168. #373 we are remaining with 89 (long way to go) Strongholds like Southern, Lusaka, Copperbelt have been dealt with to a great deal

HH good show, free advice for you “NEVER DESPISE SMALL BEGININGS”

  172. Why are we getting negative Vibes from most people with the Zambian flag? Second Question where did all the voters go? People do not have the right to complain if they do not exercise their constitutional right to vote. America started voting last week with the early mail in and absentee vote, and they are the highest turnouts of that kind ever; imagine what it shall be like on the 4th of november. They know here that President Bush messed up the economy with his crew, thus change is need therefore they are voting in great numbers, highschool(secondary) students as well.

  176. #388 look at the bigger picture, confidence ukwete ya ntinya, Sata chapwa he did not do his homework just like 2006, zambia is not only Lusaka, Copperbelt, Luapula and Northern Province, instead of the mini bus drivers he was engaging the majority of zambian’s are the rural areas with different needs and he ignored them, shame on him, what taxes can we talk about in rural areas, they do not have shops like Spar, Shoprite where they could be buying bread, so his reducing taxes on bread will not sell there. Sorry guys this is reality.

  177. I can imagine who was shouting mwa mukolo in Mongu- was it those 2000 pipo? I agree The Boast lied to us. I wonder what they will say now, but lets wait and see if RB will pull thru ninshi lwanya.

  180. Questions that have boggled my mind these few days…
    1. Since SATA already thinks he has won, what can stop HH and RB from claiming the same?
    2. Has SATA now become a fortune teller!?!
    3. If RB (or HH?) win, then the elections are rigged. How about if SATA wins??

Looks like SATA is out to be president regardless!!!

  181. WE ARE WINNING AND PLIZ GUYS JUST ACCEPT IT. VIVA SATA!! YOU ARE SENT FROM HEAVEN… AND WE WHO WANT DEVELOPEMENT LOVE YOU AND BELIEVE IN YOU. GOD BLESS YOU

What Sata and HH say is that MMD cant win without rigging. Even if they rig it is not an abvious win for MMD, but a win for MMD is an obvious rig. Try and live upto you name.

  183. Why did Kaunda not let us move on with democracy like Sir Serestse Khama did in Botswana; 1966 ’till this day and we wonder why we are in a fine mess. Optimism is one of my strong points thus I know one day we are going to be great. For those of you older than us bear with the changing time for Kaunda hurt the nation by closing us to free enterprise in thinking. May God bless Zambia.

  184. It does not pay to be a some of us and not register to vote or if you register not to even go and vote at all. You see until we change this mentality results will continue to be decided by the rural community while you break your heart on LT. Not a bad idea. Can you imagine that one of the most populous constituencies chimwemwe in Kitwe has less voters than Keembe? anyone been to Keembe?

  185. #254, mak.zambian, thank for observing objectively what i have been writing about on here LT while people thought I was not giving a correct picturing.

  186. This is so weird – zambiaelections dot org says Serenje is PF, Post says it’s MMD. What does ECZ say?

  187. #415 John Chinena,Liteta

We touched the nine provinces of Zambia and asked the people to vote for the incoming president His Exellency Michael Chilufya Sata, hence the confidence.Come what may it is the cobra himself for presido.Viva Sata Viva PF,Pabwatoooooooooooooooo!

  188. #432 its not fair that 20 years down the line you still want to blame Kaunda. We could have changed by now if we had any WILL to. Mulekeni KK atushe.

  190. #401 we really wanted to all vote but most people were disfranchised by the so called MMD govt, they did not allow voter registration and the replacement issue was all nonsensical man, imagine someone who voted from chadiza in 2006 is now living in chingola can they manage the transport costs just to go vote?? come on man we here in zed we know wats on the ground.

  192. @434 HH is winning. What you are describing when you say

is known as vote splitting. That boy HH should have bid his time. Now even his tribesmen have forsaken him. If they have done that, who are we to vote for him even in 2011?

  193. Sata doesn`t know how to campaign in rural areas. That`s where he`s got a problem. He always win just in LSK & CB .Don`t worry bcoz there wont be the next time 4 him.Age 4bids.

  196. I see Sata going down to 47% while RB is stuck at 33%. HH is the one that has gained to 19%. If this will be the trendt I think Sata will still be top. The difference is still a mountain. This is so because most of the recent results were from Southern province.

Wait until all the provinces are covered. I still think Sata will carry the day because not all the results from his strongholds have been announced.

    Lets wait and see.

  197. You pipo saying its the rigging trend for ECZ to announce the opposition stronghold first, have you have studied the geography of Zambia? I can copy and past a map of zambia to that effect. Results from CB and LSK, the PF stronghold come in first pant they are closest to Lusaka. Is this Greek? Anyone bringing false claims of rigging be arrested now. Didnt you learn from the Ministry of Health van and the two L/stone trucks? Substantiate all claims dont just yap about. The stuff is slowly hitting the fan, ka?

  198. HISTORY 101 MHIPS
“Initial results from the election gave Sata the lead, but further results put Mwanawasa in first place and pushed Sata into third place. Interim results released after votes from 120 of 150 constituencies were counted put Mwanawasa on just over 42% of the vote; Hakainde Hichilema had 28%; and the Michael Sata had slipped to 27%. When opposition supporters heard that Sata had slipped from first to third place, riots erupted in Lusaka. On October 2, the Zambian Electoral Commission announced that Mwanawasa had officially won the election; final results put Sata in second place with about 29% of the vote.”

  199. #254 well observed please address this to a certain woman who has been rubbuishing tonga’s at every opportunity.

  200. Why is the electoral commission taking forever to update results on their site?
#442 and 445 are those legit?
    not doubting just wanna know!!!

  201. If you wnat to know the truth, refer to posting number 252 on these comments above. Whatever it takes, that will be the outcome. matter-of-factly, RB has already strated preparing for the inauguration. SADC leaders are being contacted for invitations for the ceremony. I know PF (Pabwato) mau not like my statement, but that is the truth. The earlier you bring yoursleves to to accepting this, the better. Let’s talk again tomorrow after midday. I hope the zeal we see from Pabwato now (and for the past eight weeks) will still be there by tomoroow afternoon. Wina Ayamba Kudala kulila. Ouch…another loss for Sata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rigging is obvious. Havent you heard the news of the election official at Munali High School?

    Rigging is real my friend.

  203. Sata azilila. We can not have a patient as a president and then we end up with another by-election. How many by-elections do we want? Even the rest of the world is laughing at us when they see that Sata has even got some votes! But the most important thing is that THIS IS THE LAST TIME WE ARE SEEING SATA AS A CANDIDATE. I don’t think he will be a factor in 2011. And the man was even saying there will be no elections in 2011! Hahahahahaaaa….I am enjoying every bit of this. And the Post, what next????

  204. Ba 459. Zambia One , you are paying for the neternet on a caffe and you want someone now go offline, please just go home and we shall keep on informing each here. Have a good evening.

  205. If someone has a video of 2006 elections results announcement please post it on you tube and maybe people whose memories have failed them will see what happened. September 30 headline: Post Sata leads by wide Margin: October 1: Leave is catching up, October 2nd: ITS LEVY; I as a UPND supporter was not surprised. Watch this space this year for a repeat of this

  206. 461, I cant say they dont rig, but I am saying the reason other results come in first can not be attributed to rigging. Even that man who was caught, can the eyewitness stand and explain to a court of law? Someone must push for that man to be prosecuted and not just leave it otherwise the root cause of rigging will always be there. At the end of the day, this has been a clean game and I see transparency at 90%.

  207. #453, Anonymous. Nice stuff.

GEOGRAPHY 101 Maestro Hhehhehhehhe Institute of National-Political Studies (MHINPS).

    Zambia has nine (9) Provinces.

  208. VILLAGE POWER
If Rupia wins we should go beat all the damn villagers we can not afford to have Banda a corrupt person for president

  209. Anonymous you are right are those guys questioning why sata leads first been to Chavuma? or Shangombo? so how can results from these areas be in earlier than those for Munali and Matero? by the way as of last year the only communication tool in Chavuma was Zain. Not even Zamtel is there.

  211. villagers don’t care about the country so long as they are getting suger everything is good 4 them.
But the problem now in zambian pollitics is tribalism
    The results reflect tribalism!!

  212. #486, it is good that you and many more are now agreeing with me – Maestro Hhehhehhehhe.

HH waboola, the best is yet to come. Just wait and see! Check many objective people’s comments above for more on tribalism.

  213. 482, but you would rather have another corrupt person, not particularly RB? Where is principle here, pantu allegations have been made against all the candidates but noone has proved them in any court of law, or even a kangaroo one for that matter. The only clean person was Brig. General but he lacks political foresight, just has the one in the spiritual and millitary realm. Lets hear your view, this was mine and sorry I had to voice it…

  214. Imwe dont go rumbling about villagers my father leaves in the village but he is wise. why dont you vote and win you the intelligent town dwellers? because you watch your children with sagged pants loitering and dont ask them whether they registered to vote even when they are above the voting age.

  215. One thing for sure, them village folks are much sharper and more intelligent than town people.
The kaponyas who were the numbers at sata’s rally are still having hangovers. Sata supplied too much chibuku, no wonder the crowds. Let us now wait upon the well behaived rural folks to teach us one thing or two.

  216. #491 You are right Miyanda he definately a capable leader of the 4 but he lacks the organization skills that Sata has. Among the 4 I would rather have Sata win considering that Miyanda has no chance. Zambia’s little economic gains will be ruined should Rupia rule the country. He is a sleepy old man.

  217. I find all those assuming that Banda is going to win as jokers. I have followed the results I notice that Most of NW , easter, Western have been anounced. I have only seen 1 from Nothern and 2 from Luapula. The results there are that the Margins are high in favour of PF in Lunte, Mporokoso, Kasama, Mpika , kanchibiya, Malole, Lupososhi, Lubasenshi, Shiwangandu, Chinsali, Lukashya, Kaputa, Chimbamilonga , Chinsali central, Chilubi and the PF has reduce the high margins of 2006 in Senga , Isoka east and west. Luapula is a clean sweep. So when u say RB is cathcing up. were is he going to do this. So ladies and gentlemen brace your self for the Sata administration.

  218. IN USA JUST REPORTED THAT ACT’NG PRESDT IS WORKING ON RIGGING THE ELECTIONS. ZAMBIANS OUT THERE IS IT TRUE? WE CAN BE AWAY FROM HOME BUT WE ARE WORRIED WITH ISSUES IN OUR MORTHERLAND. ECZ THE WORLD IS WOTCHING BE CAREFUL IN YOUR REPORTING.

  219. #97 If an old sleepy man beats a sharp old man then one amongst them must be more sleepier than could ever be imagined.

  220. 497 please comment on financial policies that Sata would implement, and that RB would not have managed? I think your sleepy comment is not fair comment on RB to be honest. Look at RB professional and Sata as well. We need professional skills not just organisational skills- we are employing a head of state not an HR Manager (a rude one at it!)

  221. #499

Do you have a complete list of all votes counted in each constituency? If you dont, what you have said is merely speculation. Think man.

  222. I agree that time may be up for RB. When are the next updates from ECZ, someone in Lusaka with a Zambian flag, please? All the mathematicians, please give us a projection as we await more results. We have the total number of voters, we know the apathy percentage roughly and am sure we can predict/approximate the voting pattern in remaining contituencies. I can do it but must admit am a dumb head with calculators but know the info needed. I can do the report though as my writing is flawless (LOL!!)

  223. Young and Smart.
Can someone tell me why HH can not convience the Zambians to vote for him. It is a shame that will have an old person in the state house may be another bye election in three months.

  224. #453. Anonymous
Been to school? In this age of IT distance is irrelevant, a fax from Kabwe and Nakonde to Lusaka takes same time to reach. Lol

  225. # 501 CNN? You are dillussional they will not report on Zambia a peaceful loving country unless if it is bad news

  226. #498 JUST USE YOUR CELL PHONE AND GET YOUR UPDATE, ECZ ARE GOING TO SLEEP IN A MINUTE TILL MAILO. IF ECZ COULD GET RESULTS IN CHIPATA AND DELAY IN KABWE WHAT DO YOU THINKING IS HAPPANING @ THIS HOUR. POLICE AND ARM CHAPS ARE PREPARE FOR PIPO’S REACTION.

  227. HH started on a wrong footing- tribal. Tongas are also widely believed (I dont agree) to be self centred so the other regions wont push a Tonga to level of Plot 1. Interestingly I did a study on tribes while at unza and this is the conclusion that I reached…..unfortunate. I hate tribalism myslef, God forbid I commented, but that is a factor. Look at who else has given HH a vote and see the others- they are able to get other support-miraculously. HH can do with a bit more blending for 2011.

  229. No one at this stage can confirm the total number of votes untill all results around the country are recieved and confirmed. Sounds like a contradiction but it is a simple but vital fact.

  230. #527

The point I am trying to drive in is this: registered voters do no reflect the vital information of the final vote count. This will only be possible when all results are recieved and confirmed.

  231. 517 if the fax is there is Shang’ombo or Kaputa. Remember fax works on the basis of zamtel connection and someone was as kind as to advise us that such luxury doesnt exist in those part of your country- Out of interest how often do you visit zambia, do you have surviving relatives there, esp. in remote Zambia? My being to school is irrele right now, esp with the questions you have to answer….

  232. 529, I agree, that is why I said a projection, since we know roughly that there has been apathy at about 50% and I concede my bad maths and implored some mathematicians to do magic. I think a projection can be made on available info, informed guesswork as we used to call it.

  233. #510 – the Zambian dream is even better than the american dream.. you could be a cop.. if you work hard you could even become president!

  234. I mean MMD is FTJ trained,no man can handle the thug in them. They are after cheddars, definately they will do whatever it takes,to get green.

  236. If Sata or any other politician wins the most major provinces where Zambia has her elite citizens it would not make sense to loose in Villages. The uneducated cannot decide on behalf of the educated what type of a nation will Zambia then be?

  237. FROM THE POST!

POLICE in Lusaka yesterday nabbed Munali presiding officer Godfrey Malwita on suspicion of having already marked ballot papers.

WHERE DID HE GET THEM? ECZ YOU KNOW WHY SATA REFUSED REPORTING ELECTRNICALLY? IF POLICE DID NOT DO THEY JOB COULD ECZ NOT REPORTED THE MUNALI RESULTS? THERE ARE STUFF ACCEPTED BY MAIL, ELECTRONICALLY, FAX AND IN PERSONNEL, BE IN USA, ENGLAND OR ZED.IN A COUNTRY WHERE YOU SUSPECT FOUL PLAY ELECTRONICALLY IS NOT ACCEPTED NOT THIS TIME.

  238. VIVA MMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WAS SUPPORTING HH, BUT I THINK ITS BETTER TO HAVE BANDA THAN SATA THE THUG. ELO NGA TWA PENDA AMA VOTES FROM THE REMOTE AREAS, ALL YOU PF SUPPORTERS DON’T START RIOTING

  239. THE LATEST . . . . . A MAN TRYING TO RIG HAS BEEN REPORTEDLY ARRESTED AT MUNALI CONSTITUENCY…. BEEN REPORTED AND TELEVISED ON MUVI TV. PLEASE LT UPDATE US.

  240. The problem with having an early lead is being able to sustain that lead. Sata and PF (Poor Finishing) may have the lead for now, but as long as RB, VJ and company know exactly by how many votes it will take to beat this lead, the element of rigging comes into play. I am sure lots of money is changing hands and offers are being made to secure an RB victory. If MMD cadres can attempt to increase RB’s score in Munali, they will try else where.

  241. I think it will be difficult for Rupiah to offset this deficit unless turnout in Western Province and NW Province was 100%. Otherwise, I think Sata will keep the momentum and probably beat RB by at least 10-20 000 votes.

  242. MMD is rigging Election. There is no way in all the provinces they are coming out as number 1 Or 2…..and they are delaying to realise the results with poor turnover. They are taking advantage on the Zambian people. This is bad.. Where are these guys getting the extra ballot boxes and papers? Are we Safe? Shame on RB and the Entire MMD.Anyway Only GOD knows. We know he will fail to rule this country. He has failed before. The dollar is rising.what has RB done in sense of development? How much is he paying the image builder? Tax pays money…. shame

  243. Too bad uneducated people are ruling us.These villagers are making life too difficult for us.How come?constitution must be changed in zambia.we should vote like americans.I see tribalism in zambia.
At the end u can just see one province puts someone in state house.

  244. #540, russia moscow, do not lose heart yet. I hope we shall not lose a life as Zambians in these election confusions and frustrations through heartattacks or even strokes. Our population is only about 12 million and so we need more people to be alive.

The best is still yet to come. HH the man of the moment will show you exactly why he has come to serve the Zambian people.

Take care you all Zambians and be lazy to do any evil.

  245. MMD will do anything in their power to win. However if by mid night today RB does not take the lead, then he is bruised!

  246. Almost 2million people voted. The counted so far is only around 1million.. The margin among the three contenders are no that large.. So anything can happen. The City results are almost done. To win Sata should have built a strong lead.

  247. which rural areas?they have already counted a handful of rural areas in north western, easten, central and southern provinces…stop dreaming, start setting u mind on what might come,,,living in denial is dangerous

  248. Ba Koswe bola panshi, As promissed we will smoke you out of plot one. We gave you a choice, either get in the boat or drown….You chose to drown. Dont argue shat up this is a recording.

  249. # 565 it is you the young generation that need to form or organize a political party with a sound agenda otherwise staying in Russia running away from the skinhead will not help us we need all that energy in Zambia

  250. #565, russia moscow, you wrote “Too bad uneducated people are ruling us.”

I ask you for honest answers to the following questions:

    Who is uneducated?
    Who are the uneducated people?
Who is tribal among you so-called town/city people and us villagers (see your posting on #565 written ‘These villagers are making life too difficult for us’?
What level did Sata reach in school? Howz about HH, Miyanda and RBB?

  251. This the time now i will call my country and its people useless,Sata cannot win among the most educated and loose to the villagers. It does not make sense even to the law association of Zambia who are among the educated in the city.

  252. ZNBC : MMD Presidential campaign Chief Executive Officer, Mbita Chitala, says he is confident Acting President, Rupiah Banda, will emerge victorious in Thursday’s election.

Mr. Chitala says the election results have not yet been announced for the MMD’s strong hold, particularly rural areas.

He told ZNBC news that although the MMD has been trailing behind Patriotic Front, Michael Sata,he is confident the ruling party will carry the day.

Mr. Chitala said the remaining constituencies in rural areas will enable Mr. Banda win the election by a wide margin.

And Mr. Chitala is happy with the manner in which the president election has been conducted.

He said the election has been conducted

  253. Going by the results posted on zambiaelectionsdotorg, Sata has won this election. Firstly, the results are very accurate. I have compared the results on this website to results released by ECZ and they match. Given voter turn out at 50% of registered voters (3, 939, 983 = 1,969,992) the website is reporting 1,058,024 votes in 74 constituences, leaving 911,968 for the remaining 76 mostly rural constituences. Sata will win the elections if he can get a minimum of 400,000 of the remaining votes. Go to ECZ website and compare the reporting by constituences and you get the idea of what I am talking about.

  254. #498 do not trust the Zambia Elections website. I think it is a PF front. They have continously over-estimated the PF vote. when they had about 40 seats reported they had PF in the lead by over 200,000, when the ECZ reported it was only 120,000. At 60 seats it was down to 90,000. PF have not built up a big enough lead, with about 90 seats still to report I think MMD will win this by a very small margin.

  255. I bet MMDD will win.The are like a bad rash. Please if the is a God.Let these pipo go and let us lead the country. The have failed.
    SATA TO WIN

So people, having done some stats, it’s unlikely there will be any major changes in the posotioning. All the best zambians…

  257. We hope and pray that Sata doesn’t create another Zimbabwe. Maybe he will visit the dentist and beauty parlour to make him more handsome, otherwise abana will be scared to look at the president!!

  258. #582, Sony Ericsson Phiri, why are you running away after you wrote “Maestro He he he you are the most impressive case of denail I have ever seen. Get some help man” above and now “Maestro there’s nothing to discuss, HH is nowhere close”.

On president HH just wait for the resuls from Western, Northern Western and The Southern Provinces to be fully announced. Let us see whwhter skeptical characters on president HH’s candidature were right or wrong about him (HH) failing to get the 26% he got in 2006 when he was under UDA (UPND, FDD and UNIP). Anyway, cowardice is one of the humanily attributes and so feel free stay away from a discourse with me – Maestro Hhehhehhehhe – tomorrow.

  261. But what/who does Godfrey Miyanda believe in? Pity the pipo that voted for him. He was jsut wasting votes, should have had his votes together with teh spoilt ballots. Where is pretty ANgela to advise him? I am sure like most men he went against her sound counsel.

  262. #557, I will update as soon as I get this information. I still have Isoka east and west , kanchibiya, Mpika and Mfuwe when I get these I will post them.

  263. The rural strong hold talk is an opportunity to rig. Sata is currently winning in 4 of the 9 provinces and has performed relatively better in Central Province. HH has taken Southern and spoiled the day for RB in Western and North Western paovinces, where do they hope to get all these rural votes to emerge winners. Here is the latest from zambiaelections
    Totals (77/150 Constituencies)

    PF 500,035 47%
    MMD 364,419 34%
    UPND 198,199 18%
    HP 8,636 1%
    Void 3,767 0%
*Please note that these are RAW results coming from the polling stations. They are yet to be verified.

  264. Inner Eye: Those votes in CB and Lusaka does not represent the most educated. Those are thugs and dropouts who are frustrated and to an extent lazy. The other votes casted on RB and HH in these CB and Lusaka represents the elites. And most of them dont vote.

  265. #601 Yangu

Do you have an idea of the actual final number of votes to be cast? There is about a million votes yet to be accounted for. With a million votes any of the candidates have a chance theoretically.

  266. Are really sure Sata will deliver all that he promised us? I know for sure, those of us who are supporting him now will be the first ones to cast a brick on his head. We win with him, we fight with him and we develop with him. HH is still a young man he will take care of us after 3 years after the old man’s retirement. I also hope Sata will clear all the nepotism that exist in the government especially in foreign missions!

  267. SATA MICHAEL C PF 407,639
    BANDA RUPIAH B MMD 317,558
    HICHILEMA HAKAINDE UPND 186,152
    MIYANDA GODFREY K HERITAGE 7,254

  268. Yes about a million #606, but HH is giving them a run for their money in Western I believe, most of Eastern is already declared, and PF is hammering Northern, Luapula and even Central so I don’t see where the votes are coming to MMD really. But then again maybe there’s going to be some riggin

  269. #610 most of western still waiting, luapula still a few there, and those towns above. I reckon Sata has it – unless rigging

  270. #597, Sony Ericsson Phiri. Thanks for being honest on “maestro I don’t want to discuss fantasies sorry, I have better things to do… I am impressed by your loyalty to HH, but reality must one day get through. Or maybe not?”.

I a s s u r e you that you will continue beinf impressed with me. For your sake although elections are over, here is my preferred list of Zambian President again:
    HH (best)
    Miyanda (better)
    RBB (good)
    Sata (worst)
Do not worry much for this is my personal opinion which I have a right to have. Have a great day, Sony Ericsson Phiri.

  271. Aah #556 seems not to be a patroitic zambian, changing at last second man. 2moro he will be for King Cobra. Viva Sata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  272. Sata is equally tribal remove Northern and Luapula he is nothing. And how many of his MP’s are not Bemba? does anyone know?

  273. Aah #556 seems not to be a patroitic zambian, changing at last second man. 2moro he will be for King Cobra. Viva Sata sniffing for statehouse fresh air.

  274. I know that I hav lost the game and my time is over, however my friend RB will always remember that I gave him a good run for his money.
I had strong feeling of winning the elections coz the clowd and the Post cheated me.
I have realised that God given candidate will always prevail.Tho I used the postm to psycologically defeat the majority I have failed but remember I;m still in the race.
We shall win I still thing so.

  275. A lot of constituencies in Eastern has not be declared yet. Most Sata learnng Constituencies have been declared.
    RB is in strong position.
Sata has lost in Nakonde and Mpulungu, meaning, he will suffer some shortfall in Isoka as well.

  276. #613 Maestro you also have a good weekend, mine is:

    Sata (best)
HH (maybe OK but untested and unwise not to partner with PF or he would now be in government)
Miyanda (a good chap but no chance)
    RB (must go)

    I respect your opinion tho

  277. #611

If we could have an over all picture of oustanding votes. Depending on which areas are oustanding, one can have some reasonable speculation of the possible final results.

  278. MMD is closing up! 90 000 votes difference from 77 constituencies so far. The rivers are drying up again. Abash hooligans rulling

  279. #600, CCK, Kanchibiya came out almost exactly like the parliamentary elections earlier this year, I think:
    PF 3,765 78%
    MMD 976 20%
    UPND 57 1%
    HP 2 0%
    Void 0

  280. Sony Ericsson, Livingstone was declared early this mornin, RB has won it, followed by HH and Sata in third. Most of Sata’s strongholds, have already been announced. Rb, still has a number of areas to go. Even if Western and N.w went to HH, Rb is not very far behind, but sata is dropping so many votes in these areas, like Southern where in certain arears, hes recording as low as 200 votes while RB records between 3000 and 4000 after HH. I think the tide will soon change. Sata is dropping votes at very fast rate. At this rate, I am not seein PF winning.

  281. Western and NW PROVINCES seems to have been shared between MMD with PF in the shadows. That is the same with Southern Province. If the oustanding results are in these areas Eastern, Southern, NW and lUSAKA rural, I can bet anyone that MMD has won the elections.

  282. Does anyone know if CB rural has been declared. it has some numbers in areas like Mpongwe, Lufwanyama, Masaiti, kafulafuta these are potential RB, at there worst they can go to HH

  283. #620, Sony Ericsson Phiri, thanks for “Maestro you also have a good weekend,…I respect your opinion tho”

Before I go, on your “HH (maybe OK but untested and unwise not to partner with PF or he would now be in government)”, my opinion is that HH did well not to partner with PF – because people will now appreciate what it is to underrate or undermine others. It is also good because president HH may have a point to prove for his 2011 candidature, if it will be. He will claim that he was not endorsed by anyone or did he participate in failures by questionable characters like Sata. So, it would have been good to remove MMD together, but damaging to a personal career. Look at Saki now!

  284. ‘PF you will remember this day, as the day that you almost removed the MMD from Power!’ – THE CURSE OF THE BLACK BOAT!

  285. #116,michelle nkole, from the time i started readin yo comments,u always mention yo f*****g boyfrend.we are not interested coz we now know he cant think.u are very rhetoric n childish.
    natuwina kale pwisheni tulale mweeh!
    pabwatooooooooooooooo!

  286. #631 ENIGMA

What you have said is significant. What it means is that the remaining votes will be either MMD or UPND with PF in the shadows. The question then is: How has MMD or UPND done in PF’s strongholds compared to what PF has done in their strongholds.

  287. The bloggers in Russian really need change. Am sure you are suffering a lot. MMD has done you bad. anyway, ask the boys and girls at UNZA and CBU, they will tell you better. by the way, how good r your degrees from Russia?? Unfortunately, Sata is not winning. hard lucky for you guys. Back to your books!

  288. #626, Shi Mpundu, you wrote “#616 am not PF but how do u explain his popularity in Cb and lsk?”

While I did not post on #616, I will try to help by giving you a demographic view point of the LSK and CB Provinces population tomorrow evening if you will care to read my postings.

    Enjoy yourself.

  289. #RBB is gaining at a numbers high speed while Sata is losing them bit by bit and HH is coming up:

    PF 500,035 47%
    MMD 364,419 34%

  290. Sata teti awine nififine alabilingana fye epela. elyo ba PF apa na basamwa its a repeat of 2006 u were chanting and drinking when initial results were being reported then when u blacked out at midnite we rigged the vote teti muwine bakabalwe

  291. Said, Case scenerio: Namwala HH:9731, RB:2298, PF: 174. And this is the trend throughout most of Southern Province. In fact in North Western Province RB is even winning, Solwezi central for example. In Sata’s strongholds, RB was not trailing like this.

  292. #647 cont’d

The simple logic is that with 50% of votes counted, the vital remaining half will determine the winner by how much the candidates will have managed to salvage gains from their rivals strongholds.

For PF to win, it must outdo MMDS scores in PF strongholds.

  293. In no way can RB or HH overturn this landslide victory for Sata.

Get used to the idea, President Sata…

    Where is VJ, Mlongoti?

    MMD REST IN PEACE

  294. So far there is only 352,993 votes remaining. This figure includes those who have not voted or cannot vote for one reason or another. So that if we give it an error of margin for example 15%, then we are talking about 300,044.05. So how do we split these votes. with the trend so far it is close o call.

  295. #633 The following consituences in Northern and Luapula have not yet reported: Senga Hill, Malole, Lupoposhi, Lunte, Kaputa, Chimbamilonga, Mfuwe, Isoka East and West, Mwense, Chipili, Mambilima, Chifunabuli, Bangweulu, Luapula, Chembe. The are areas sata will do well. A lot of Central province constituences have not reported yet and Sate can come second in most, if not win – eg Serenje and others. My base figure for Sata is 400,000 more votes. RB and HH can split the rest (even if 1,000,000 votes are yet to be counted) and Sata wins.

  296. So far there is only 352,993 votes remaining. This figure includes those who have not voted or cannot vote for one reason or another. So that if we give it an error of margin for example 15%, then we are talking about 300,044.05. So how do we split these votes. with the trend so far it is too close to call.

  297. #654

I have already asked this question, do you have an idea of the final votes for you to say only 300,044 votes are oustanding?

  298. RB is a Zimbabwaen. Zambia educated a lot of Zimbabwaens. Most of them are PhDs teaching in the University of Zimbabwe. Most of them changed names from Sibanda to Banda. Zeds be careful or esle you be rude by a foreigner. Not different fron Chiluba (congole). Think of KK a son of a migrant worker from Nyasaland.

  299. “Insabata mbuzuba bwa-Leza, tula boola kwiiya zya Jesu * 3

Tula boola kwiya zya Jesu * 4”

    – SDA Church Zambian Tonga song.

Brothers and sisters, fellow countrymen and women, I am now going on a sabbath recess to worship God, my Creator. I will be live on here LT tomorrow to see what is happening. Otherwise, I leave you with a serious statement that please “reflect on the tribalism that Sata and MMD (Chiluba) brought to Zambia by accusing late Mazoka’s UPND to be Tonga tribal”. May you all be blessed and take careful care. “Be lazy to do any evil” – unknown.

  300. #655 yo forgot nchelenge,chiengi
nchelenge and chiengi are big cons-cy
The race is tight.who knows PF can carry the day.

  301. Analyzing 2006 results in comparison to 2008 obtaining results, here are my deductions so far:
    1. Sata has significantly increased his winning margins (by as much as 3-fold) in areas that he narrowly won in 2006 i.e Northern, Luapula and some constituencies in Lusaka and CB. Importantly, he has dramatically reduced the margins by which he is loosing (about 2.5 fold) in areas that he previously lost in Northern and Central provinces.
    2. Given the scenario that HH is heavily spoiling votes for RB in NW and Western, while Sata is doing the same (better in some instances) as he did previously in these areas, and considering that HH is nowhere near the finish line, it is logical that Sata wins.

  302. 655, Katete, Lundazi, Chadiza, Nyimba, Mambwe, Chama, all these are RB strongholds and havent announced yet. Bring on Mkushi, Mumbwa, all these are MMD,not yet announced. Western is HH but RB is not far behind but Sata is close to Void.

  303. There are 1,428,049 registered voters, out of which 500,035 PF + 364,419 MMD + 198,199 UPND + 8,636 HP + 3,767 VOID = 1,075,056 Announced and that leaves you with 300,044 with a margin of error of 15% which could be higher knowing the quality control of Zambian officials. that is why the results tend to be slow.

  304. Its amazing how HH has failed to decisively penetrate the Zambian politics. Even if he had to come back in 2011, I don’t see any change in his winning pattern.

  305. “Vyakulolavye ” where did you get the “1,428,049 registered voters,?”
There are 3,900,919.00 registered voters though vey few have voted.

  306. We are almost there. It’s time for the technica;lities of the game. PF let’s go … young HH will help split the remainong 300,044 votes. MMD, it was good knowing you …like we once knew UNIP! Viva change …viva!

  307. You like or not you are in the boat. Bonse emo tuli Mubwato. Bulesenda nabashilefwaya.Ahhhh! thats the good part with Sata’s Boat, its not like Noah’s boat which was up to your choice. But this one Mmmmm.. its different! It is taking even those who DONT support the CAPTAIN

  308. 670 You are right. Traditionally, Zambia had been announcing results as and when available. Mwanawasa stopped this in between then suddenly there was a change!! Computer virus!!! Don’t allow it PF! Go Michael!

  309. Its taking them to long to announce the results.Next time Political parties should also be announcing the results. Before Mid night lets have all the results. What are they doing?counting?or posting ,or calling? or verifying? or transporting? but for how long? I have been here since lastnight.Delays in announcindg results are not good for an african country.

  310. VJ already broke down the numbers, he knows what he did. Shame does it mean that Zambia has not been able to rise and train new leaders since colonial days. Have we not got any leaders other than the liberation fighters, come on people, its been 5 decades in other words fifty years. All our past leaders are failures as non of them ever prepared a successor.

  311. Vyakulolavye stop lying. Theres 3,934,048, regsitered voters of which about 48% voted giving us 1,888,343.04 votes cast. Minus your 1,075,056 (unverified ofcourse), you have 813,287.04 remaining. And by the way your 15% is way too high my bro!

  312. #681 Hk My brother What have I done ? I am merely waiting for the results,I want to rally behind the 4th President of Zambia.Political divisions will only be in 2011 though Sata said he will rule for 5 years.

  313. #669,one of the main reasons HH has failed to make significant gains in Zambian politics is because he is an unknown to most people (rural people particluarly). Unknown in the sense that though they have seen him they dont know what he is about. He needs to become more seasoned. I think persuing a parliamentary seat should have been the next step for him once he was appointed UPND president. Unfortunately or fortunately, being familiar with someones CV does not mean you know the person. UPND needs to engage in serious restrategizing that involves identifying the reasons for his poor performance and how the issues can be overcome. That would, in part, involve talking to people across Zambia

  314. “PFSL” looks like we are not reading the same results. Sata is leading but he will not win this election. Watch to the very end.

  315. 686:Ichi Shinka There is no need. HH should continue to be in the opposition and keep a Souther Stronghold till the people realize that, he is a top draw. Meanwhile keep voting illiterates like Sata in power.
You don’t need to be a President to contribute to National Developemt. This is multi party democracy. Wina Azanena Yes.

  316. “Ichi Shinka” I partialy agree with you. But HH is the same guy who said he has been campaigning all over the country since the 2006 election so you would have expected him to do better this time. The way I look at HH, he doesn’t just have what it takes to make it in politics. You can have all the money and other personal qualifications to yourself but you also need persoal appeal which I think is lacking in HH. Besides, he doesn’t really seem to have a strategy to out do these old folks in Zambian politics.

  317. ECZ is hopeless whoever becomes president has to overhaul the whole process to make it more efficient. The longer it takes the more suspicious people become. These are situations that can be avoided. Problem is we never learn from previous errors then improve on them.

  318. According to 2006 register we have the following:
    Registered 3,941,229
    Voted 2,789,114
    Did not vote 48,936
    Constituencies to Date 150
    Valid votes 2,740,178
This represented a 70% turn out.
If you do your maths, there was a low voter turn out this time around-which could mean only 60 – 65 % voted for arguments sake. what does that represent. Some voters were turned away because they did not have valid NRC’s or they have lost them. The preparation was short. So forget about the 3.9M

  319. #688, what exactly were you responding to? When you lose, the logical thing is to reflect and restrategize, its basic common sense (which oddly is not common) Last time I checked you could hold a seat in parliament as a member of the opposition. This is HH’s second run and he has failed again. If he does choose to run again he cannot expect to the same thing and get different results. If he chooses to contribute to national dev in a different capacity that is well and good, but it seems he would prefer to make that contribution as president. I don’t recall talking about “voting” sata into power.

  320. Folks, let me tell you something. The MMD will always use poverty, iliterace and lack of technology to win elections. In this age we shouldn’t be waiting for more than 24 hours to know who the winner is. Its a strategy that has always worked for them, though very retrogressive!

  321. what is miyanda doing?that guy is a failure,he should just go and rest in chibolya.he is just spoiling votes for pabwatooooo.ushe alibe stronghold yeve?that man is not fit to be in politics, akayeseko upatili.i rest my case

  322. #682 there is no lying here because even you are just voicing your opinion. Figures are dynamic, don’t expect the 2006 situation to prevail at this moment. your figures are too rigid. try a bit of flexibility because at the end of the day this our country and we are all hoping for the best.

  323. disorganised MMD.always the same tricks. My dear Maestro Hhehhehhe you deserve an award. Don’t forget to go to church in the morning. come back to blog after 18hrs.

  324. “Vyakulolavye”, lets just accept one thing besides other technicalities. There has been massive aprthy in this election and for a good reason known to the people that stayed away. We won’t while know unless a study is done. Did I say “study?” we don’t do such stuff in Zambia. When its over, its over.

  325. hh has negative and minus zero political leadership qualities.it ends there.Under his leadership upnd has weakened.Under his leadership they have even failed to win a single bye election at a parliamentary level.Politics is not for hh.People with selfish reasons made sure he became upnd President ,Dyamodyamo and not that they saw any leadership qualities in him.

  326. “The Voice”. I think his inability to improve means that he had a poor strategy or poor timing, or both. He is a smart individual, with some well thought out ideas and principles but he is not a charismatic person. He is not like Chiluba who was able to hide his incompetence behind his smooth talk. HH needs to expose himself to the people and enable people to connect with him and his message. I would suggest that he stand as parliamentarian, ensure that he is vocal about the key national issues, spread the UPND platform nationwide and then make another attempt when the climate is right.

  327. Ichi Shinka: HH has not failed. It is the Zambian people who have failed themselves and he does not need to change any tactic and become a thug or a liar. You seem to be living in Fantasy. the only time HH wont lose is when he wont run. Come 2011. He will run the same better race, with similar results. Aluat continua.
How do you explain HH obtaining Zero votes in Lumezi. How do you explain Sata getting lower than 200 votes in Dundumwense. How do you explain the huge loses RB is suffering in Mpika.

  330. 699 Ichi shinka leaders are either born or made. Its clear he wasnt born a leader.I doubt he if he is willing to learn or be groomed ,you just cant start your political career as President.

  331. Sori ba PF. Your poor fishing will always cost your winning. the watch is ticking and the boat is sinking. You talk too much and do little on the ground in areas that you are not popular. try 2011 it might work for you as for RB alateka till 2011.

  332. … and the winner is …???Musaluwali pesamba! Leadership and Education are two different things! A democratically elected leader is NEVER about who the “theories in the books” say he ought to be. It’s NOT about who has money. It’s about who did his home-work with the people he intends to lead; it’s about one closer to his people. Let’s see how the so called educated “smarties” will run against the so called absolute nonentity (Sata). Perhaps if every ZED citizen had a Degree … otherwise, we the uneducated will continue to see nothing wrong with a this uneducated intelligent hard working and action packed man. Good luck to the educated; meanwhile PF is definitely winning – Viva PF!

  333. HK, well good luck with hitting your head against the wall and expecting anything other than pain and brain damage. If HH has people like you advising him then he is doomed. I don’t recall suggesting that HH restrategize by becoming a “thug and a liar”. Get real. Anyway, I think I am wasting my energy on you. Well, keep up the same “winning” tactic and we will see how that works for HH and his party in future.

  334. After all is said and done, You and I have to live together in harmony under the winner whether or not he was our choice.
Let the Lord continue using us as shining stars in Africa. Peace forever@Zambia

  335. Why has someone used my identity. I have not written anything today. Someone using the same name as me. I wrote last nite and was trying to build my intellectual debate nicely and someone has hijacked the name ‘the big zedian’. How pathetic to do that. Identity fraud is a crime in Britain. I enjoy reading things from recognisable IDs and that is what I was hoping to achieve by this ID. You muppet, stop using my ID.

  336. Choma1, your point is very valid. That is why I suggested that HH develop his political career through parliament and then move up. It is either he has the wrong advisors or he is so blinded that he doesn’t see that he “cant start his political career as president”. I wish genuine people around him would advise him correctly.

  337. Ichi Shinka. There is one thing I will never Vote for. SATA. Not in my lifetime. He can be president but at least not with my vote .I salute those who also never gave him a Vote.
I do not expect much from Sata, the same way, I never expected anything sensible with Chiluba. I expect the worst, therefore if he does well, it wull be a bonus.. But i doubt if he will leave zambia a better place to live in. With this in mind, HE WILL NEVER WIN.

  338. Congratulations to the Patriotic Front for winning.

It is too bad the best candidate in this election “HH” has lost, which is why I am encouraging my family to move their money off-shore or convert them to rands or pula’s before the kwacha starts trading at 10 million per dollar in Sata’s reign.

On the other hand, when do we start counting the 90 days and also, all the Zambians in the diaspora who wanted Sata to win, are you going to relocate to Zambia so you can live in the mess Sata will create??

  339. Ba LT, brings bring on something new so we can slo start contributing. This is too old and everyone seem to have the same thought.

  340. HK, at what point did I discuss SATA or encourage you to vote for him? I am sure I was talking about HH, his performance and possible way forward. Whether you vote for him or not is no skin off my back, he is not my candidate. I would advise you to directly respone to my actual comments, not someone else’s. If you want to argue with a PF supporter, pick someone else. I am not interested.

  341. I’m worried too about Sata winning but remember we called Levy a cabbage and agreed with the Post. Levy proved all of us wrong in terms of the economy but for his nepotism in the diplomatic offices filled with his relations who have neither experience nor the cultural capital for such offices. He will always be a hero because the Zed that I went to recently had more development than FTJ did for mother Zed.

  342. Breaking News: The Post (online) reports that PF leader Micheal Sata is leading in 93 out of the 150 constituencies counted so far.

  343. it s a gool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Upnd have just completed their their heart trick of loses in 7 years 2001,2006 and 2008.

  344. From my observation Sata is the fourth president because the number of Voters remaining is small. How many Voters casted there Vote in Zed?

  345. Ba Munkoyo, chungulo po mukwai.
Like I said earlier, am bek now to follow your good updates. May God bless and keep you, all participants here and our beloved Zambia.

  346. It seems these MMD and UPND thugs are still in denial……..pliz do your math!
It’s not about the numbers you are looking at, but the aggrgate.

  354. why was mmd even wasting state resources campaigning when they knew they were going to rig anyway? They ve already won we are just wasting time.

  355. this election is truly a defining moment…however 1.2 million registered voters out of a possible population of 11 million makes a mockery of the democratic process. Are we in agreement that approx 10% can decide for the rest??? quite a laugh if you ask me. lets look at the Australian electrol model…there’s somthing to be learnt from the Aussies…apart from how to play cricket and rugby!!

THE LIKELY WINNER IS ONE WHO WILL ACCUMULATE ATLEAST 675,023 PLUS OR MINUS 2500 VOTES.
SO FAR 1,268,633 HAVE BEEN COUNTED.IF THE VOTER TURNOUT WAS AS BAD AS THE AVERAGE OF 45% AS CAN BE SEEN FROM ALMOST ALL POLIING STATIONS,THEN ONLY 486,367 VOTES ARE REMAINING.

  357. God bless mother Zambia!!! May his will prevail and let peace reign. Who ever wins zambia MUST forge ahead with sanity. We want tangible development ie. new serviced residential areas, tarred roads, nicely expanded Lusaka. Surely the local government should learn from our friends under “sanctions” they still construct tarred roads in the capital come on Zed we can do it. Zed money must work to build Zed. What a nit vigil!!!

  358. Folks, the levels of aparthy experienced in this election simply mean one thing. None of the candidates were appealing enough to the electorate!

  359. the rate at which results are coming in is alarmingly slow! what if 9 million had to vote! it would take the whole year! this is why we need some to develop lines of communication in our beloved Z. pa bwatoooooooooooooo

  360. Ba CHONTO MALINGA good analysis keep updating us we are relying on such analyses yangu! the night vigil continues as “it is much darker before dawn” according to one african opposition leader. God bless mother Zed!!!

  361. guys u are doing a recommendable job. i wish i was home to update colleques as well. can someone advise what is the situation in Lusaka.

  362. humble appeal HH plse go back to work and leave politics. accept it that God said my son presidency is not for you in zambia no matter how rich u are or educated. plse try some thing else or dont be selfish merge with either MMD or PF.

  363. PF also has some key rural electoral votes from Chifunabuli, Bangueule,Luapula Contitunency,Chipili and Chembe.

  364. 1.9 million plus is the projected total number of votes that would have been cast based on the projected average voter turn-out of 49%. But the truth is ECZ is not supposed to know this number before they receive all returns from all constituencies. Is this there projected way of ‘fixing’ the results? We are yet to find out.

  365. Yes! This is the time that Zambia will be appreciated. BUT HOW? Ooooho! So you dont know? Sata is coming with his ideas that will help evolutionalise Zambia from what it has been for 17 years. Well Mr Michael Sata with all those progressive idea that will finally help mother Zambia.

  366. 760. your flag man mute-uk – Lusaka is peaceful and quiet but not eerily quiet. It is just quiet as people go about their business. You can rest be assured that people are drinking and dancing at Room 101 (latest disco house at Arcades), Times Cafe, Chez Ntemba, Alpha Bar and many Shake-shake drinking points. It is life as usual and don’t even think a Kenya or a Zim-zim is gonna happen here.

  367. thanx alot 769-Munkoyo for the update. kindly continue the good work you are doing. cheers man.
when do u think u will get the latest update?

  368. From the checklist.
Msanzala, Kasengwa, Lundazi, Chasefu, Chama south, Chama North are yet to call in for Rupiah Banda

    Monze, and Gwembe for HH.

Sata’s ground will be consumed by the above obvious.. and when Western Province calls in. Rupiah will take the lead.

Sata has done badly in the Northern part of Noerthn province..

  369. To call in for Banda&HH with Sata on the floor
Mwandi, Mulobezi, Senanga, Nalolo, Nalikwanda, Sikongo, Sinjembele, Liuwa, Lukulu West, Lukulu East, Mangongo, Luampa, luena and Kalabo..
The parten so far shows the MMD is winning with strong showings in Sesheke, Kaoma and mongu

  370. I will definately miss the pa bwatooooooooooo fans, they really made noise and exaggerated issues with their post newspaper.Who even taught them how to put zeros in front of the T,the thing was cool.As for upnd their comparing Obama to hh was AN abomination,a sin,a curse. The non political CVs they were bringing up was also nON starter coz most Zambians have outstanding CVs better than the CVs they were talking about.Sata,RB,Miyanda and the voids have better political CVs THAN hH.

  371. Any results Ba Chonto Malinga? The Pope is also waiting for zed reults. We are drinking coffee here waiting. Ala na ma radio pa Zed they don’t function, we are still in the colonial imagine if congo DRC can have digital tv and raio on the net, even Amagolegole, pa Zimbabwe what about fwe ba Zed?? Tell us mwebantu so that we start ukusefya!! I am sure Sata will send us shake shake by DHL!!

  372. #775. Father Christmas – Maestro will be online tomorrow evening as he is taking a break because he is SDA and it is Sabbath now.

  373. To call in for RB & HH
Chavuma, Zambezi West, Chavuma, MwinilungaEast & west, solwezi east.

Levy’s stronghold is also yet to call.. so far 25 Clear losses for Sata.

  374. Choma1 I’m afraid to say HH has a better cv than any of the candidates. I’m no UPND supporter but the problem is the fact that majority of of Africans are so jealous when their own is doing far much better than them. RB,SATA will take Zambia backwards. YOU JEASLOUS period.

  375. mmd dont be excited SATA still as some Northern Provinc-senga hillChilubi Island, Insoka east and two others apart from some Luapula and Central province such as Kapiri etc.It is a tight fight. Tuchil mu bwatooooooooo tu le yabuka

  376. in CB..Sata only have chililabombwe to call for hi.. while Lufwanyama and Kafulafutu will call for RB..looking at Mpongwe and masaiti Voting in large numbers to RB

  377. #781. JJ – be patient and stop attacking Zambia. Why are you bothered about the results if the country means nothing to you?

  378. I’m actually getting impatient.Any updates from you guys in Lusaka. Those that are online or have internet at home othrwise I will assume any bloggers posting here beyond midnite zed ime can only be abroad as there is no 24hr internet cafe anywhere in zambia that am aware of.so lets have some legitimate feedback of results from good sources

  379. RB was born to be President and not by struggle but on a silver plate. At times the day you are born and stars really count.Politics is so complicated such that even a date can favour one candiadate.

  380. PF says they are disappointed with the MMD’s announcement that they would win through a projection which was not substantiated. PF say in 2006 Mbita Chitala again made an announcement. Two polling places in kalabo were still voting at late as 16hrs today and PF is wondering if this is where MMD wanted to put in votes. The argument is that the remaining 56 constituencies are not rural per se but most are actually urban. Also fax messages with results are showing up about 5-6 hours late from the time they were received. issues of trucks with voting materials getting broken down in border towns don’t show confidence. PF says there should be no need to declare winners before ECZ does declare.

  381. Ba Chonto Malinga Na ba Munkoyo are you sleeping> feed us with the latest remember to keep the vigil its almost dawn and gets darker then!!! be warned1

  382. #784.Whatever, CV FOR WHICH OFFICE? I clearely stated RB,sata and GM have better political CVs than UNDER 5.In accountacy or Economics maybe hh has a better cv but I need to check his grades.#784Whatever we are not looking for an an Economist or Auditor,we are looking for a Political Leader so small s Cv does no apply.

  383. #791 – PF is not expecting the ECZ to announce RB as winner and this is from Given Lubinda who I monitored through a live interview.

  384. NETWORK CONNECTION FROM SOURCE TIMED OUT.I AM TIRED MEN,IT IS MAMA’S TIME OTHERWISE NO BREAKFAST.I LOVE YOU ALL AND MAY THE BEST PLACED CANDIDATE WIN.
NEED TO GET TO BED BEFORE SOMEONE ACCUSES ME OF BEHAVING LIKE “CIMUTENGO CAMANGO CHIFUKWA SINDINE CISIMBI OR CIMWALA AWE”
    VIVA ZED KINGDOM!!

  385. Tetamashimba says MMD are going to win the elections. He thinks that the transparency introduced by the ECZ means that any political party which signed the results is free to send its results to national HQs of their party. So these are signed figures from stations. They say that Sata also said RB should concede defeat and MMD did not make an issue of it. The figures they say were faxed to MMD HQs and they have tallied the figures for all constituencies and polling stations. MMD say this is petty. MMD say they are only relaying what presiding officers announced. Teta agrees that VJ is in Northen Province and this is an issue with PF.

  386. Constituencies yet to call against SATA
    Eastern Province =6
    Western Province= 14
    North Western = 5
    southern prov= 2

Constituencies in Sure Sata Areas yet to call
    Luapula=4
Northern =6( 2 learning to RB, Isoka , Senga hill)
CB= 3 (2 learning to RB, Lufwanyama, Kafulafuta)

    For central province
Sata is weak except Serenje and Kapiri mposhi.

  387. #798 – 94 constituencies counted and 56 waiting but we cannot give you new figures as there is a delay.

Tetamashimba is currently being interviewed by foreign journalists. Looks like BBC.

  388. Live Update – UPND say MMD should wait as there is no basis for claiming victory. UPND says they are not aware of voting happening today up to 16hrs. Shangombo was still counting today and so was Chavuma. But the UPND says there was no reason why reasons for Luena and Kasempa not to have been announced as ECZ had the results even before the 20:30hrs announcement by ECZ Chairperson. UPND hopes that no manipulation goes on. (This was Tiance Kahenya speaking to journalists).

  389. Lee Habasonde (Executive Director of SACCORD) also says there is need to leave ECZ to do its work and no independent announcements are made by political parties as this undermines the work of the ECZ and the process. He says the right to announce results is to the ECz and it raises questions when someone else announces. Projections are welcome but they should not be done in the process of announcement results.

  390. HP – Pastro Kamwiya said HP has confidence in the ECZ and they trust the process. Everything including announcing results should be left to ECZ. HP has only a few hiccups here and there and mainly this was not process-wise. He says the places where no monitors from the opposition are there are likely to be manipulated. He says MMD can send monitors everywhere because they have the money but for the opposition, these remotest of the places are not easily unreachable and so are left alone. There is more than 9 000 polling stations country-wide.

  391. Those not happy with the results means didnt do their work nicely.Politics is game and in any game or match facing an opponent is not always predictable.

  392. People are just dosing off at MICC because Judge Florence Mumba cannot take her seat yet as she is in a meeting with the political parties over the PF allegations against both the MMD and the ECZ.

  393. Ba Munkoyo

Kalebalika (let the sun shine on you). I love the patriotism you’ve shown us here. May the Lord keep you safe from harm and bless you abanduntly.

  394. #809 – that number of 98 is from zambiaelections website. The ECZ figures as at 20:30 zed time was 94 constituencies though there were actually more results with ECZ which were not announced. Reasons for keeping them and not announcing them not given.

From the body language of the bigwigs at MICC, things don’t look good for us supporting Sata. RB seems to have sneaked through. VJ in Luapula and Northern is a mystery.

  395. More dosing around MICC, remember these people here have been around for two days and so they are tired. I can assure you whatever the issues are in the meeting, they seem big. We are now one hour and 15 mins behind schedule.

  396. Ok, so if I go to the zambiaelections website I will be able to see all these results? You are such a great man. I guess you are a Journalist worth a reward. Greet the guys for me that side: Mervin Syafunko, Noel Sichalwe etc.

  397. Sad indeed VERY SAD indeed. I have no problem with Sata or RB becoming Presidents. They are all great and capable of moving our country forward but I like fair play, honestness and dignity. The only political misfit is hh.he is supposed to be auditin or herding cattle

  398. 816. Mr Munkoyo thanks alot alot my brother.I am really grateful to have a countryman like you.I am now leaving. hallowen party is calling ,a great time to forget hh.

  399. HH has been a total let down even in areas taht we thought he would split “nicely” with RB, he drew blanks. Back to the boardroom!

He should have listened for the good of the nation and merged under Sata. But ofcourse, he’s got selfish interests… Just wnated to be the presdo right now. SHAME!!!!!!!!

  400. Live Update – Vernon Mwanga is speaking live by phone to journalist and he says he was in Lusaka all along and that he voted at jacaranda school where Sata also voted. He says he never went anywhere but this may contradict what Teta was saying when he almost confirmed VJ was in Luapula. Meanwhile VJ says he shall sue those accusing him of going round.

  401. Munkoyo, be reasonable VJ cannot be in both Northern and Luapula at the same time. It seems that VJ in your mind is no longer a human being but a phenomenum. It looks like you are one of those who was chasing every truck as having ballot papers like Chicken Little crying “The Sky is falling. The sky is falling!”

  402. ZEUS – Ther accusations were that he was seen in both Northern and Luapula provinces. Kasama and Mansa to be specific. You happy now?

  403. BA RB awe is about to win. let us accept defeat it was not just given by God that Sata will be the president, maybe for a good reason. politics of talking and throwing stones is over. we need people who can understand issues economic issues and global issues such as credit crunch. we dont want old type of politics. let someone continue Mwanawasa`s polices and not starting afresh again.

    cheers

  404. ZEUS – learn to differentiate what I report as said by others and my own interpretation. Those were reports of people saying those things and so your attack on me is both baseless and unfortunate. I forgive you though.

  405. There is nothing wrong with HH. Even if we always avoid the issue, we should revisit the so-called liberal ideals of representative democracy. The best candidate loses in a cloud of political ignorance, brainwashing, resource control and an unfair polarlisation of who should have, and who should continue to wallow in the doldrums of abject poverty, abeit subject to the most ruthless manupilation of their political voice. In our situation, we should question whether it is wise to allow all and sundry to vote merely because of age. At the moment, opportunism exploits the ill-informed and grossly misled.

  406. its called universal franchise and its enshrined in the constitution. I you suggesting people present c.v’s before they are allowed to vote. Get real

  407. There is no sign of Mumba coming through and I am sure there will be serious disputes and so I see some rough hours coming.

  408. Regional voting has shown up again. Can we have mature politicians in zed to offer alternative policies? What is the use of all these politcal parties that are simply regionally based?

  409. munkoyo walipena mudala. u are giving up to the minute updates.

  411. Dear Zeddies,
According to the ECZ’s own released stats, Sata should have already been declared winner.

Just go to the Electoral Commission of Zambia website. Add up the allocated number of votes, plus the rejected number of votes. Whatever total you get, take this total away from the total number of votes cast country-wide. You will find that the only explanation ECZ must give is where the other ten votes are.

BUT, here comes the problem, there are constituencies whose results have not come in. If they are to e allowed, there will be more results than the number of people who voted.

Worse still, if it is true there were people voting on the 31st of October ’08, this is a stincker!

  413. To all you amigos, ¡Perdone! I have to sleep now. Adiós and buenos noches! Muchas gracias for being patient and for being good people. Lo siento, pero Sata looks like he is giving way. Es una lástima because he should have been the mover and shaker we needed. Hasta la tomorrow! Its tea and bread then the bed. Will help out in the morning but things aren’t looking good so far.

  414. #863 – We can safely say most of the remaining constituencies are Western and North-Western though we have others like Nangoma in central not yet announced.

  415. Awe Munkoyo wabomba, I appreciate your mature approach and dedication in serving other people. We need such characters for us to move forward as a nation whatever the results.

  416. By the way, I just visited the ECZ website, they have now removed the earlier posted guiding stats. No number of registerd voters, no number of votes cast, no number of rejected votes.

It is now as secretive as a witchdoctor’s combination which you just have to take as a given.

Could the data that has been removed be the important bit that needed tweaking?

We will wait and see what the discrepancy was.

  417. GRUNDIX

Just check, files are revomed but information remains the same. Here is an extract which serves as an example

  418. pipo the way SOUTHERN PROVINE HAS VOTED ,AM NOW CONFIDENT THAT SATA HAS WON THESE ELECTION coz HH has spoiled MMD result in south giving more chance for the cobra to win that is the fact .Even if you at the vote pattern in NORTH WESTERN it is the same HH has definely help SATA to win by spling the result in thz so called MMD stronghold

  419. #872 Its the opposite, I think HH has helped RB to win by splitting the vote with Sata, If PF and UPND had united, the opposition could have easily won

  420. #873 u ar wrong coz HH has helped SATA not allowing a 100% votes to go to RB from western, southern and north western.

And for yo own information from the votes counted fm 116 constituencies SATA is leading by 27,410 votes coz fm 116C SATA HAS POLLED 601,990 AND RB CHIMPUNO HAS RECORDED 574,580 and so far we ar only remianig with 34C

  421. AND PIPO FOR SIMPLE CALCULTION THIS DEFINATELY SHOWS THAT SATA HAS WON THE ELECTION,COZ FROM THE 150CONST.HE HAS MANAGE TO GET 93C AND MORE OVER THESE C HAVE HIGH NUMBER OF VOTERS.SATA HAS CROSSED THE HALF MARK GOING BEYOND 75 IS NOT A JOKE

  422. I agree with more than Half million votes the PF worked realy well. I know whoever loses this will be a bitter pill to swallow. The lose will be by 5%-8%. I know how such a lose took even Andy to his grave.

  423. #887 Where are you getting your info from? The thing is, the remaining const. are considered MMD strongholds and the gap is closing very quickly. Plus, there are still a couple to go..

  424. #879 the question you need to ask yourself is how many people casted votes from these MMD strong holds? These constituencies may be MMD but there may not be a big number of people voted. There has been vote splitting between these three candidates unless Sata gets less votes and RB gets 95% of the remaining Votes then he will be declared winner. But as at now the race is either way with a minimal difference between the loser and winner.

  426. MMD WILL WIN WITH ABOUT 600,000 VOTES. THIS IS REPRESENTING THE SIMPLE MAJORITY VOTERS WHO ONLY REPRESENT 7% OF THE 12 MILLION OF THE POPULATION IN THE COUNTRY. GOOD FOR ZAMBIA. GOOD FOR DEMOCRACY. FORWARD MMD

  427. HEY LT, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR HEADLINES…SATA IS NOT LEADING ANY MORE
YOU ARE BEHIND…BANDA HAS TAKEN A VERY BIG LEAD

  428. I don’t trust the MMD.Why are they counting the chicks before the eggs hatch?People who live in Rural Areas are always forgotten by the Gov’t and what makes them think that most of the rural population will vote for them. Here we go again.Power hungry eeeeehhhh!!!!

  429. in rural areas void will get alot of votes.so rb count yourself out.tizakukwezekako pabwatoooooooooooooooooooo anyway.thanx for acting as the president.that was the highest you can go.go back to your farm and grow paplika for your ba mwenye

  432. Thumbs up to the wiseman for the quick response. At least the bwato is running away from nyamasoya- HBP is now stabilizing

  433. MMD MUST BE ON THE FON TO HARARE FOR RIGGING TIPS.BUT REMEMBER EVEN MUGABE-MASTER OF THE GAME FOUND IT DIFFICULT AND HAD TO RESORT TO VIOLENCE.TIGHTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS.GOVT OF NATIONAL UNITY-THE FAILED ZIM WAY

  434. MMD die hards? as a party we believe the way forward is not partisanship, tribalism or any other kind of discrimination…we believe there is only one zambia that we together must stand up for and that is when we can have true democracy unlike now when the environment has been made so fair but people are still coming up with theories of ghost trucks with ballot papers and pointing fingers saying rigging rigging…there has not even been any rigging whatsoever….and what do you have against MMD? you beloved govt that has brought you thus far…..

  435. this election has eve really been a real reflection of the counties choices as there has been high number of voter apathy……….minus the apathy MMD would have carried the day with even more votes than 2006 because it is now even more popular

  436. #
    874. your flag Anatola IV – It is closer to 4 million if you want to believe the ECZ that they have add the 400 000 who were left out of the register in 2006. However on the ground alot these people didn’t vote and many others were missing and so to me reality is we were closer to 3 million than 4.

  437. #901,it is said that there is no smoke without fire.someone was caught with pre-marked ballots, what does that mean to you? secondly,i have nothing against mmd nor do i have anything to gain from upnd or pf,all i desire fo my country is that the will of the pipo shud be supreme and fairness is the name of the game.
why shud we wait for results fron one region fo more than 48hrs? are yu telling me chama is more accessible than solwezi or senanga, mumbwa is more difficult to reach than mpulungu? anyway, let’s embrace the one zed one nation and look forward to 2moro.

  440. it is good tat yezyaniso you ave agreed to embrace one zambia one nation. i have done the same! i think it is not only people in rural areas deciding also the few voting against pf and hh in towns are making their mark considerin that others ave shunnd the voting process. but it is not tue representation as our population is 12 million and total votes will only be around 2 million

  441. the bwatooooooo is still on,still ve 4 const in luapula.the bwato cant sink, unless if rb will add more constituency from malawi and zimbabwe

  443. it looks like Sata is still in the race but i doubt him winning…….well i also agree with pipo who are saying HH is selfsish, for real if our man HH accepted to be with Sata he(sata) was just going to help HH win the 2011 elections, but the way things stand HH is becoming more unpopular look at the results on the copperbelt. the other thing that is worrying me is the issue of tribalism guys for real theres tribalism in zed at leat the northerners have tried a bit but hey they voted RB bcoz of Nawakwi………it will take us time to develop in zed with this Tribalism

  444. #924 HE IS THANKING THE PIPO WHO VOTED FOR HIM AND HE HAS ALSO DECLARED TO STAND IN 2011.AM SURE HE WAS JUST EXPOSING HIMSELF FOR 2011….

  445. wats the problem with educated pipo?? they cant see opportunities in using uneducated pipo. come on HH you came on the scene bcoz of your tribe and merging with sata was going to free you from the tribal tag that u still have tho you deny it, for sure i am looking at the 2011 elections, God forbid we dont want any of the 2 grannys to come up again and Miyanda is also far from achieving it, but the “mighty” MMD might even adopt him and for sure hes gonna win and our young man HH will still be struggling…………SHAME!!!!

  446. #926 you are right the general is exposing himself for 2011 but does he stand a chance???
coz we only know 2 so far who will be there in 2011 HH and Miyanda.

  448. awe yandex too many questions………anyway we are here to help you! 2 constituencies in luapula…….the rest 20 in eastern, central and western

  449. So: Remaining 20 constituencies are mostly in Eastern, Central and Western Province? What part is Western and Eastern?

I see RB willing big here! Sata rigged elections in Chinsali, Mkushi, Mpika, Shiwangandu, Chifunabuli, Kasama Central…heh heh heh..I am joking. But this is what Sata will say if his opponent wins in Western Province. Whatever the case, Goodbye Batata. Go nurse your heart problems in peace. We’ll always fly you to RSA Morningside Clinic in JHB when and if you get sick. We care about you old man. You did your best with that slogan: “more money in the pockets”. Very appealing during Xmas period!

  451. There rigging has already been done. that is why they always start by announcing the opposition’s strongholds so they can know by what percentage the can add to their votes to take the day. VJ work. Ama ZMK 15million naya bomba.

Results still to come from costituences that voted yesterday

  454. # 945, we are now being fixed by the ECZ. The remaining results will be in favour of MMD. Everything has been facilited by Danny Kalele and Florence Mumba

  455. Its interesting to note that UPND and PF have a total of 1, 268 504 – according to ECZ latest results. this means that if HH and Sata has put their pride and selfishness aside, Akulu Mphuno could have been sent packing back to his village where he was dozing day in, day out. Lessons should be learnt from this otherwise, MMD may rule for a longer period than UNIP did. By 2011, they would have had 20 years of rule.

  460. WITH 13 MOSTLY RB CONSITUENCIES LEFT, PF LEAD HAS SHRUNK TO 14,049. WE TOLD YOU OPPOSITION PARTIES TO UNITE. WAT IMPACT DOES A PARTY LIKE HP HAVE?

  462. ITS NOW TIME PF AND UPND POOLED THEIR RESOURCES (VOTES) TO DISLODGE MMD. THIS IS THE CALL FROM EVERY WELL MEANING ZAMBIAN WITH INTEREST AT HEART TO DEVELOP ZAMBIA. WE ZAMBIANS ARE HUMBLY ASKING BOTH PARTIES TO BURY THEIR HATCHETS AND JOIN HANDS. WE DO NOT WANT MMD/UNIP AGAIN. THERE IS TOO MUCH POVERTY IN THE COUNTRY WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING. TO PUT IT SIMPLY, PF, UPND PLEASE PUT TOGETHER YOUR VOTES AND KICK OUT MMD. THANKS.

  463. I feel for the ‘Teens’. Once RB wins, his first priority will be to look for virgins instead of investors. By next the inflation will be back to 20s and interest rates in thire 40s. Too bad.

  464. hey guy…let us be…..as Bikkiloni would say….let us ‘m very serious. how can Sata have such votes (40%) this is enough …let the MMD scoop it by rigging as we all know…it’s once again their Great Day…thanks to the greatworks of VJ…bushe ba muntu mu computer muletipo shani?……

  465. PF AND HH cant be leaders in zambia. they are too greedy that the reason they have to lose. unity could have worked, maybe it is good this way, remmember how bad SATA used to be during ka chiluba govt. God is saying this man Sata can change anytime. Lets us continue to pray for unite in zambia.

  466. Look development means puting heads together, if these guys really want to dev. zambia they could have merged and win elections there do the best for this zambia.but cause individual greedy there want each one big the president so that they can exploite zambians. God said no, RB may not be the best but it has worked to his advantage. i hope next time we have elections people should learn past experience. it happened in 2006, but why should it happen again. image same people, there is something wrong with HH and SATA.

thanx everybody for your views i rest my case.

  467. Zambians, thank very much for voting MMD. I have been a diplomat for the past 12 years, thanks to MMD. I was so worried that we are we are losing. I dread the thought of coming back home. It just scares me. I am enjoying my life here, of course through Zambia tax payers money. My salary always comes from Zamiba on time, unlike those loser students in Russia. I also have a number of allowances like three cars, white people cleaning my house, 4 security guards, 2 druvers, 3 cell phones, 4 paid holidays, a 12 bedroom house, swimming pool, my own bank account with 1.3 million dollars, all my children are here with me, total 5 and receive free education, paid by Zed gov, total $70,000 per term.

  468. Munkoyo alikwisa where are you my man need update coz am kind of disturbed just heard sumthin that MMD 771000 n PF 689000 i think VJ apwa umwenso wasnt he fired and out of the party and brought back by Rupiah for 1 purpose and one purpose only rigging but kwena chi….. vj apya

  470. ifyabupuba pa zambia,,,the same pipo say that they need change but keep on voting for the same bloody party,,,atase

  471. This is a sad sad day, not because I care who wins between PF or MMD, but because.. the truth is we as Zambians will continually have our rights trampled on, for the material gains of a ruthless elite.

I pray for peace and love to all my fellow Zambians and what is sad is that the very peaceful nature we have is being used against us and will continue to happen, because our minds are sleeping peacefully and we will continually be abused as such. ill leave you with this quote by Benjamin Franklin to think about.

“Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither” —

    Benjamin Franklin–
Former president of the United States of America.

    May god bless you all

  472. he he….I’m back .I was just listening to the news on radio phoenix…and they have said he next result update is at 20hrs zambian time…..let’s fall asleepand let the J team rig even more so that when we wake up we find Rupiah Banda Celebrating…teifyofine ba muntu?

  473. CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING NUMBER 1000 SS,SEE IF U CAN ALSO BE NO.100000.
BUT WHO IS SO UNFORTUNATE TO CARRY THE ‘MARK OF THE BEAST’?

  476. Diplomat 986 – You are beating your drum. LOL just wait you will be recall and all that you think you have will be dust. God gives and takes!! What you have because of the goodwill of Zambians can be taken. Dont forget there have been others before you and the geneve convention has not guarantee for your stay….Ku ya bebele…..And you cant even apply for a green card for a while!!!!

  477. diplomat 986, u shud be ashamed of urself….how can you be bigging up yourself for noting you have worked hard for. i pray the incoming government, will spot you in particular and send u back to the komboni u belong to.

  478. If we were to write history for our future generations, what would we say cost Sata and PF to lose?

Also seeing that none got 100% voted, what would we say are the reasons some people did not vote for

    1) RB and or MMD
    2) Sata and or Pf
    3) HH and or UPND
    4) Miyanda and or HP

Politics aside, what can we objectively tell the future, after all the dust has settled?

  479. wrt #1012.

    1) RB – results of 2006 and 2008 have similar pattern, implying some people are fed up with MMD doesnt matter their candidate LPM or RB. You can see this in urban areas like Lsk and CB. So RB, no vote, MMD no vote.

Could also be that RB did not impress some people. Too old peharps or just not inspiring at all, especially for those wanting change. Recent economic wind may have done him hard too, just like G Bush in USA – the Kwacha value falling, copper prices etc. Intellectuals and business minds may have preffered HH. Also company of wolves like Teta and mulongoti may have cost seem some votes. Being Sugar daddy too.

  480. wrt #1012

    1) RB contd. – the K15m did him bad. Many now think he’s less than a mwanawasa though he was vice president. This could have cost him some votes. Also, some people are not sure who the guy is, sympathiser of UNIP philosophy or really a blue MMD, embracing market led economy.

It’s had to see what cost him votes in rural areas aprt from tribal or regional sentiments. However, touring with Sikota and them FDD guys could have reduced the impact of this sentiment.

The Post newspaper could have also swayed the undecided against him.
He also seemed to bungle his campaign team, some MMD felt left out. He seems to have no tough mind of his own but seem to ride on LPM.

  481. Acting President Rupiah Banda has taken the lead for the first time since the presidential poll results were first released by the Electoral Commission of Zambia on Friday.-ZNBC

From the first release, Patriotic Front President Michael Sata has been leading until, Saturday.

The latest release by ECZ chairperson Justice Florence Mumba has hauled Mr. Banda to 708 thousand 683 votes from 6 hundred and 52 thousand 354 votes.

Mr. Sata’s tally has gone up to 682 thousand 171 votes from 66 thousand 194.

The figures represents results from 148 constituencies.

Only two constituencies Sikongo and Sinjembela in Western Province now remain to be announced before a winner can be declared

  482. Hai what is it iam hearing back home.Zambians donot be suprised what weare going through is a world and African political phenominon. No doubt democracy has been defeated better to be called DEMOCRAZY only breeding distructive mental phantacy well understood and decided by totaly uneducated and blind villagers.well,it is the name of the game win or lose.

  484. 986 useless and selfish chap. you are using tax payers money instead of working for your self shame on u and your fasmily. learn to work hard like some of us in foreign land doing very fine and having business back home.

  485. #696, the big zedian, ” My dear Maestro Hhehhehhe you deserve an award. Don’t forget to go to church in the morning. come back to blog after 18hrs.”

Thank you very much, the big zedian. I really appreciate your comments.

  486. #723, Free-Market-Capitlst, I thought that I advised you not to convince yourself that Sata has won. Haven’t you read my postings on “history repeats itself”? I have even narrated a story of how I made a similar mistake in 2006 – that is what is called ‘EXPERINECE’ for it is learning from previous mistakes and doing better by building upon them mistakes.

I hope you will not appear writing other funny stuff when the actual winner other than Sata will be announced.

  487. how can SATA properly contest the election when thousands of men with guns stand around waiting for orders from above , can you say rigged ? , i notice banda closes the border two days ago .hmmmm .

  488. #775, Father Christmas, you wrote “Where is Mastro Ha Ha Ha?… Please come out Maestro. Father Christmas has got sweets for you… Ho Ho Ho. ”

I am here and I need the sweets. Father Chistmas, are you the only character who does not know that I am a Seventh Day Adventist Christian who believes in following the fully original Ten (10) Commandments of the good Lord God, our Creator?

Come on, I left a lot of postings indicating that I will only be available on saturday evening after the Holy Sabbath of God comes to an end at sunset (see Genesis 1:5 in the Holy Bible).

  489. #775, Father Christmas
“Insabata mbuzuba bwa-Leza, tula boola kwiiya zya Jesu * 3

Tula boola kwiya zya Jesu * 4?

    – SDA Church Zambian Tonga song.

Brothers and sisters, fellow countrymen and women, I am now going on a sabbath recess to worship God, my Creator. I will be live on here LT tomorrow to see what is happening. Otherwise, I leave you with a serious statement that please “reflect on the tribalism that Sata and MMD (Chiluba) brought to Zambia by accusing late Mazoka’s UPND to be Tonga tribal”. May you all be blessed and take careful care. “Be lazy to do any evil” – unknown.
    [See #659 above]

  490. #782, Munkoyo, thanks for informing poor Father Christmas about my whereabouts. Be blessed and take careful care of yourself.

  491. #798, HILLCRESTBOYS, look what you wrote:

“guys how many constituencies already counted?
    i just work up?”

I am trying hard to think what you are working up, fellow Zambian Citizen. Do you mean “woke up” instead of “work up” or “wake up”?

What are you Hill Crest boys doing in Russia or wherever that place is?

  492. Ndaakona lino basa. Ndiya kulibonya kuzyopamaanza kulibaboobatika zunde. Aabo batikazyundwe ndizi kubapa imajwi aabeledde. Mupone cibotu no bantu a cisi cesu toonse tobana Zambia.

  493. Rigging, was it really there? help us understand,

(1)is it true that some people were caught with premarked ballot papers? If so what has the commission done about it?

(2)Is it true that a vehicle broke down when delivering election materials to western and north western province? Is it true that in western province, voting went into friday?

  494. RB is being swon in at parliament grounds right now!In his speech he thanks all and promises to be president for all

  495. Even if you take an early lead we know that you will eventually loose because you guys are terrble thieves. The so called rural provinces will not vote for you because of what ka Kafupi did.
